Mare's milk production with Lipizzan mares
2015The aim of this trial was to determine mares' milk composition produced by mares of Lipizzaner breed. There is still a lack of knowledge regarding equine milk production and its composition. In most cases, published data based on milk samples taken from mares which were not included in the routinely milk production.

Enhancing the Riboflavin Content of Mare's Milk
New England Journal of Medicine, 1946ALTHOUGH cow's milk is generally considered one of the best natural sources of riboflavin, Holmes and his co-workers,1 in a study of the vitamin content of mare's milk, found that draft (Percheron) mares produced milk containing extremely little riboflavin. The riboflavin levels varied from 0.05 to 0.20 mg.
