Asymptotic symmetries in an optical lattice
It was recently remarked by Lutz [{\it Phys. Rev. A} {\bf 67} (2003), 051402(R)] that the equation for the marginal Wigner distribution in an optical lattice admits a scale-free distribution corresponding to Tsallis statistics.

Bivariate Distributions with Given Marginals
Bivariate distributions with minimum and maximum correlations for given marginal distributions are characterized. Such extremal distributions were first introduced by Hoeffding (1940) and Frechet (1951). Several proofs are outlined including ones based on rearrangement theorems. The effect of convolution on correlation is also studied.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

In geotechnical reliability analysis, random volatility in marginal distributions of shear strength parameters has been rarely considered. Unfortunately, conventional marginal distribution models cannot characterize real probability distribution ...

Revisiting the Copula-Based Trading Method Using the Laplace Marginal Distribution Function
Pairs trading under the copula approach is revisited in this paper. It is well known that financial returns arising from indices in markets may not follow the features of normal distribution and may exhibit asymmetry or fatter tails, in particular.

Inequalities for Distributions with Given Marginals
An ordering on discrete bivariate distributions formalizing the notion of concordance is defined and shown to be equivalent to stochastic ordering of distribution functions with identical marginals. Furthermore, for this ordering, $\int\varphi dH$ is shown to be $H$-monotone for all superadditive functions $\varphi$, generalizing earlier results of ...

Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Eigenvalue Distributions of Reduced Density Matrices
Given a random quantum state of multiple distinguishable or indistinguishable particles, we provide an effective method, rooted in symplectic geometry, to compute the joint probability distribution of the eigenvalues of its one-body reduced density ...

Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.
