Marginal fit of castable ceramic crowns
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1992The objective of this study was to measure marginal fit of castable ceramic versus gold crowns. Full veneer gold and ceramic crowns were made on Ivorine dies. Crowns were cemented, embedded, sectioned faciolingually and mesiodistally, and photographed for measurement of absolute marginal discrepancies (cavosurface angle to casting margin) to evaluate ...

Considerations in measurement of marginal fit
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1989The terminology describing "fit" and the techniques used for measuring fit vary considerably in the literature. Although fit can be most easily defined in terms of "misfit," there are many different locations between a tooth and a restoration where the measurements can be made.

Cervical marginal fit of proximal amalgam restorations
Journal of Dentistry, 1994This study investigated the relationship between the adaptation, apical location and gap width of the cervical margin of proximal amalgam restorations. Three hundred and seventeen proximal cervical margins were studied in 243 extracted teeth. The restorations were categorized as 'flush fitting'; 'small overhang', or 'large overhang', based on ...

Marginal fit changes during porcelain firing cycles
The Journal of Prosthetic Dentistry, 1995The marginal fit changes that occur during the procelain firing cycles of palladium-copper and nickel-chromium copings both with shoulder and chamfer finish lines were investigated with scanning electron microscopy. Three copings from each alloy test group were used as nonporcelainized controls.

Gingival and alveolar bone reaction to marginal fit of subgingival crown margins
European Journal of Oral Sciences, 1986Abstract — Interproximal subgingival marginal discrepancies of full coverage restorations were compared with adjacent crevicular fluid flow and percentage radiographic periodontal bone loss. A total of 88 patients with 116 premolar crowns were evaluated.

MARGINAL ADAPTABILITY AND FIT OF CERAMIC MILLED INLAYS
The Journal of the American Dental Association, 1995The authors investigated the marginal adaptation and internal fit of ceramic inlay made by a ceramic milling system. The study's results indicated that the mean marginal and internal gap size of the ceramic inlay restorations was less than 100 microns, making the fit clinically acceptable.

Margin fit of metal crowns and bridge retainers
Acta Odontologica Scandinavica, 1985The margin fit of metal crowns and bridge retainers was examined radiographically in individuals who were registered to receive treatment at the School of Dentistry, University of Bergen. One sample consisted of 184 individuals registered in 1967-68 and another one of 232 individuals registered in 1982-83.

Marginal Fit of Implant-supported All-Ceramic Zirconia Frameworks
Journal of Oral Implantology, 2012This study evaluated the effect of fabrication techniques and cyclic loading on the vertical marginal fit of implant-supported fixed partial denture (FPD) frameworks. Thirty implant-supported 3-unit FPD frameworks were fabricated on a model system, divided into 3 equal groups (n = 10).

Evaluation of the Marginal Fit of Implant-Supported Crowns
Journal of Long-Term Effects of Medical Implants, 2020Marginal adaptation is an important feature of implant-supported crowns, ensuring long-term survival and the success of the prosthetic restoration. The long-term success of a fixed prosthesis such as an implant is highly associated with its marginal adaptation. Improper marginal adaptation increases the risk of plaque accumulation, which leads to decay

Functional marginality and response-surface fitting
Journal of Applied Statistics, 2000Well-formed polynomials contain the marginal terms of all terms; for example, they contain both x 1 and x 2 if x 1 x 2 is present. Such models have a goodness of fit that is invariant to linear transformations of the x variables. Recently, selection procedures have been proposed which may not give well-formed polynomials.
