Facet‐Specific PbS Quantum Dot Passivation Using Halide Perovskites for SWIR Photodetectors
PbS quantum dots (QDs) are emerging as powerful short‐wave infrared photodetectors, yet the passivation mechanism of large QDs by perovskites ‐ critical for their stability ‐ remains unexplained. Here, we unveil the ligand structure of CH3NH3PbI3 (MAPI)‐passivated 4‐nm PbS QDs using FTIR, XPS, SEM, NMR, and DFT.

Parallel wiring of bioelectrochemical devices with conventional generators unexpectedly boosts output. A biophotovoltaic paired with a solar cell delivers up to 50% more power at low loads than their separate contributions; a plant microbial fuel cell shows similar current gains.

After any shipping casualty has occurred (eg., a sinking, collision, grounding, death or personal injury due to accident at sea) it has been the custom for an inquiry to be made into its circumstances to see if steps could be taken to improve safety procedures to avoid the recurrence of a similar casualty and to investigate whether any of the mariners ...

Waterborne polyurethane/graphene formulations are developed as piezoresistive coatings on glass fabric to enable flexible strain sensing. The graphene‐enabled conductive network provides a stable electromechanical response under cyclic compression. The coating demonstrates reliable pressure‐dependent resistance changes, highlighting its potential for ...

Marine Management: Marine Conservation [PDF]
The research papers in this volume highlight some of the major issues in marine conservation and offer some exciting insights into future directions for research and management. It is particularly pleasing that the issue focuses on seagrasses, a component of marine biodiversity that is well recognized and with profound ecological significance, but has ...

We introduce an additively manufactured bioreactor with a perfusion flow system and integrated temperature and pH sensors for skeletal muscle tissue biofabrication. The bioreactor's performance was evaluated by assessing the viability, spreading of the myoblast cells in a printed scaffold, and contraction of the isolated murine musculi interossei ...
