A new interpretation of multifrequency/multipolarization radar signatures of the Gulf Stream front
Radar signatures which are observed on SIR-C/X-SAR multifrequency/multipolarization synthetic aperture radar images of the Gulf Stream off the U.S. east coast are compared with results of simulations with a numerical radar imaging model. Based on in situ

Some Thoughts on Marine Radar [PDF]
The Man/machine interface. People who design motor cars also drive them, but whoever heard of a radar design engineer who also had a Master's ticket? Of course, the designers of marine instruments do go to sea occasionally, but not for longer than they can help; sea-time is apt to interfere with the weekend.

Breaking the Surface: Buoyant Metal–Polymer Open–Cell Hybrid Lattice Metamaterials
Open‐cell metal–polymer lattice metamaterials that defy sinking. (a) Injection process of the polyurethane (PU) foam into the titanium (Ti‐6Al‐4V) hollow‐strut lattice creating the open‐cell Ti‐6Al‐4V+PU hybrid lattice, (b) flotation test of a hybrid lattice specimen, and (c) a digital representation and experimental validation of a marine buoy ...

Amphiphilic non‐isocyanate polyurethane (NIPU) coatings containing reactive hydrophobic poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) and hydrophilic methoxy poly(ethylene glycol) (MPEG) prepolymers for marine antifouling (AF) and fouling‐release (FR) applications were investigated. The coatings were evaluated with a set of representative marine foulants.
