White light reduces flight height of birds in low‐density migration corridor
We conducted an experiment to better understand the effects of artificial light at night treatments of varying spectral power distributions on in‐flight migratory bird behavior as measured by a portable radar. Broad‐spectrum white light emissions reduced avian flight height as compared to dark periods and more than other light treatments.

ABSTRACT Ice accumulation poses significant safety hazards and economic burdens across industrial sectors. Photothermal superhydrophobic coatings provide a practical yet promising solution. However, their fabrication typically requires complex multi step processing, limiting scalable implementation. Herein, we report a one step selective laser melting (

Covalent Organic Frameworks in Smart Food Packaging: Advances, Challenges, and Future Prospects
ABSTRACT Food preservation challenges have positioned packaging as a rapidly evolving, innovation‐driven field, with smart packaging offering transformative solutions. Among advanced materials, covalent organic frameworks (COFs) have attracted growing attention due to their permanent porosity, structural tunability, high surface area, and chemical ...

Under moderate-to-high wind conditions, low-frequency wind direction modulation signals in X-band marine radar images are strongly coupled with wave textures, sea clutter, and blind-zone interference, which degrades wind direction retrieval accuracy.

From the Margins: Potential Coalitions in Centralized, High‐Capacity States
ABSTRACT The early stages of coalition formation remain an understudied area, particularly in centralized, high‐capacity political systems. Examining actor dynamics at this formative stage can reveal how coalitions form and how limited pluralism constrains their development.

Abstract Multi‐angle polarimetric instruments (MAPs) enable the retrieval of essential aerosol properties over oceanic regions. MAPs retrieval algorithms commonly use a 1‐parameter ocean bio‐optical model (OBM), based on chlorophyll‐a concentration only to represent optical properties over open waters (case‐1), whereas the coastal water (mixture of ...

Abstract Turbulence dissipation rate (EDR) governs the conversion of turbulent kinetic energy to heat and thereby controls vertical mixing, transport, and energy exchange in the convective boundary layer (CBL). The spatiotemporal structure of EDR remains poorly constrained, as observations are limited to point measurements or sparse vertical profiles ...

Nonlinear Release of Subinertial Diurnal Internal Tides Forms Spiral Internal Solitary Waves
Abstract Earth's rotation imposes a dynamical barrier on the free propagation of internal tides at high latitudes, raising questions about the fate of tidal energy poleward of the critical latitude. Satellite observations reveal spiral internal solitary waves (ISWs) along the continental slope of the South Orkney Plateau.
