“It's Not Deterministic and It Will Never Be Deterministic”: A Qualitative Study on Stakeholder Perspectives of Polygenic Risk Score Testing for Post‐Traumatic Stress Disorder

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Medical Genetics Part B: Neuropsychiatric Genetics, Volume 201, Issue 7, Page 441-450, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Post‐traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) causes significant mental and physical distress, yet only a small subset of individuals exposed to trauma develop the disorder. Scientists and clinicians are still unable to predict who will get the disorder or how it will manifest.

Prioritizing Risk Factors in Helicopter Ditching Using Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process

open access: yesApplied Research, Volume 5, Issue 5, October 2026.
A Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) identified system failure and human factors as the most critical helicopter ditching risks, providing an evidence‐based framework for improving operational risk assessment, emergency preparedness, and aviation safety.

Bridging Artificial Intelligence and Data Assimilation: The Data‐Driven Ensemble Weather Forecasting System ClimaX‐LETKF

open access: yesAtmospheric Science Letters, Volume 27, Issue 10, October 2026.
We developed ClimaX‐LETKF, a weather forecasting system that combines the foundation machine learning‐based weather prediction model ClimaX with a conventional data assimilation system. The system achieves stable multiyear data assimilation cycling using NCEP upper‐air global observations.

Assessing Habitat Suitability and Exposure of the Endemic Vasconcellea candicans Under Climate Change and Urban Growth in Lima, Peru

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 16, Issue 10, October 2026.
This study integrated ensemble species distribution modelling and urban growth projections to evaluate current and future habitat suitability of V. candicans in the lomas ecosystems surrounding Lima under climate change and urban expansion scenarios. Results identified 2891 km2 of current high‐suitability habitat, with strong scenario‐dependent future ...

Mapping connectivity between important jaguar (Panthera onca) habitats in the Americas

open access: yesEcosphere, Volume 17, Issue 10, October 2026.
Abstract Habitat loss and reduced connectivity threaten the long‐term persistence of many large carnivore species across their ranges. Understanding connectivity among carnivore populations can bolster existing conservation strategies, and telemetry data from GPS collars are critical to informing these strategies.
