Production of Low-Sulfur High-Viscosity Marine Fuel by Hydrotreatment of Oil Residues
Chemistry and Technology of Fuels and Oils, 2019The article presents the results of tests of a system of catalysts developed for demetallation and desulfurization of oil residues to produce low-sulfur marine fuel. A fixed catalyst bed was used. The optimum feedstock hydrogenation conditions were chosen: pressure 15 MPa, process temperature 360-420°C, and feed space velocity 0.5/124.

Marine residual fuel sorption and desorption kinetics by alkali treated rice husks
Cellulose, 2014An oil absorbent material has been produced from waste biomass with an alkali treatment process. The simple yet effective process is carried out on the agricultural biowaste at 90 °C and ambient pressure. The present manuscript considers the transient behavior of the sorbent during application, in particular the oil sorption and desorption profiles ...

Combustion Prediction of Marine Residual Oil of Low Ignitibility on Two-Component Fuel Model
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2014<div class="section abstract"><div class="htmlview paragraph">The discrete multi-component model for residual heavy fuel oil (HFO), developed in the mid-2000s, proved to be a simple but practical approximation in reproduction of the combustion process of HFO sprays on a couple of CFD simulation codes.

Combustion quality of marine residual fuels measured by constant volume combustion chamber method
SAE Technical Paper Series, 2007<span class="label">1</span> <div class="htmlview paragraph">In recent years, the steep rise in crude oil costs, demand for light oils such as gasoline, kerosene, diesel oil has been increasing, and increased sophistication of oil refining technology has led to a tendency towards the production and supply of low quality marine ...

As part of risk assessment of fuel oil spills in Antarctic and subantarctic waters, this study describes partitioning of hydrocarbons from three fuels (Special Antarctic Blend diesel, SAB; marine gas oil, MGO; and intermediate grade fuel oil, IFO 180) into seawater at 0 and 5°C and subsequent depletion over 7days. Initial total hydrocarbon content (THC)
