Miocene to Quaternary Tectonostratigraphic Evolution of the Northern Section of the Burdur‐Fethiye Shear Zone, South‐Western Türkiye

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
New zircon ages reveal that lacustrine sedimentation initiated in the Late Miocene (Messinian), revising earlier Pliocene age assignments. The study results support the interpretation of the northern BFSZ as a broad left‐lateral transtensional shear zone rather than a discrete sinistral fault or simple extensional graben array.

Experimental study on the gas generation processes of lacustrine and marine shales in North China: Source implications for shale gas

open access: yes, 2015
Using a high pressure, semi-closed thermal simulation system, two organic-rich lacustrine and marine immature shales from North China were investigated to probe the dynamic processes and potential for the gas generation throughout the oil-gas window. The

Ichnology of the Rhätsandstein in the Exter Formation (Triassic), Germany

open access: yesGeological Journal, EarlyView.
Trace fossils from the Rhätsandstein of southern Germany record repeated colonization of high‐energy shallow‐marine substrates before the Triassic–Jurassic transition. The assemblage reflects environmental and preservational controls on ichnodiversity.

Accumulation conditions of Lower Paleozoic shale gas from the southern Sichuan Basin, China

open access: yesJournal of Natural Gas Geoscience, 2016
Based on the raw data of the organic-rich shale in the Lower Cambrian Qiongzhusi Formation and Lower Silurian Longmaxi Formation which were collected from the drilling core, we investigated the accumulation conditions of the Lower Paleozoic marine shale ...

The relationship between cellular protein content and selenium accumulation in freshwater microalgae

open access: yesIntegrated Environmental Assessment and Management, EarlyView.
Abstract Variability in the bioconcentration of selenium (Se) by primary producers at the base of the food web results in uncertainty in predictions of bioaccumulation and ecological risk to higher trophic level organisms. Water chemistry, speciation of Se, and periphyton community composition have all been suggested as factors that contribute to ...

The rise and fall of a volcanic plateau: Landscape evolution at the fringes of the former Patagonian Ice Sheet, Meseta Chile Chico, central Patagonian Andes

open access: yesJournal of Quaternary Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Understanding Earth‐surface processes along the fringes of large ice sheets is integral to deciphering cold‐region environmental variability and anticipating slope instability under climate change. We investigate the Meseta Chile Chico, a volcanic plateau in the central Patagonian Andes, located at the eastern margin of the former Patagonian ...
