Control of Gemcitabine Activity With Blue and Red Light
Chemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.Treating cancer with chemotherapy is generally associated with many side effects, which can be addressed by selectively releasing the desired drugs with visible light. Sixteen new blue light‐activatable cytostatics were introduced, with the gemcitabine derivative exhibiting ideal properties.

Chemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.A unimolecular polyampholytic graft copolymer matrix provides a protective confinement for an electrostatically embedded tetrapyridophenazine‐bridged heterodinuclear Ru‐Pt hydrogen evolving photocatalyst. The matrix slows the degradation kinetics of the catalyst and at the same time does not hinder its repair by ammonium persulfate.

Phosphanyl Radicals From Bismuth‐Mediated Reactions and Sterically Encumbered Diphosphanes
Chemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.Reactions of LiPR2 with BiCl3 selectively give diphosphanes R2P–PR2 in high yields, presumably via Bi─P homolysis. This includes challenging cases with bulky substituents R. Sterically encumbered diphosphanes release persistent phosphanyl radicals [PR2]• in thermally initiated equilibrium reactions.

Dynamic Calibration of DEM Simulations Using Rotating Drum Experiments Using the Mean Absolute Error
Chemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.Calibrating DEM simulations is challenging due to unknown microscopic parameters. Rotating drum experiments are combined with image‐based analysis and Latin Hypercube Sampling (LHS). An area‐based Mean Absolute Error (MAE) enables reliable identification of optimal parameter sets.
