A lot of research has recently focused on the problem of capturing the geometry and motion of garments. Such work usually relies on special markers printed on the fabric to establish temporally coherent correspondences between points on the garment's surface at different times. Unfortunately, this approach is tedious and prevents the capture of off-the-

Markerless reconstruction of dynamic facial expressions
2009 IEEE 12th International Conference on Computer Vision Workshops, ICCV Workshops, 2009In this paper we combine methods from the field of computer vision with surface editing techniques to generate animated faces, which are all in full correspondence to each other. The input for our system are synchronized video streams from multiple cameras.

Markerless analysis of front crawl swimming
Journal of Biomechanics, 2011Research on motion analysis of swimmers is commonly based on video recordings of the subject's motion, which are analyzed by manual digitization of feature points by an operator. This procedure has two main drawbacks: it is time-consuming, and it is affected by low repeatability. Therefore, the application of video-based, automatic approaches to motion

Markerless tracking for mobile augmented reality
2011 IEEE International Conference on Signal and Image Processing Applications (ICSIPA), 2011This work aims to realize a recognition system for markerless tracking in mobile augmented reality. A method based local invariant descriptors is implemented to extract image feature points for natural fiducial identification. This technique is optimized and adapted for a mobile architecture with low resources and deployed on a portable device ...

Online Smoothing for Markerless Motion Capture
2007Tracking 3D objects from 2D image data often leads to jittery tracking results. In general, unsmooth motion is a sign of tracking errors, which, in the worst case, can cause the tracker to loose the tracked object. A straightforward remedy is to demand temporal consistency and to smooth the result. This is often done in form of a post-processing.
