Global Burden of Key Components of Cardiovascular–Kidney–Metabolic Syndrome Among Women of Reproductive Age, 1990–2021

open access: yesJournal of Evidence-Based Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Cardiovascular–kidney–metabolic (CKM) syndrome links metabolic, kidney, and cardiovascular disorders, but its burden among women of reproductive age (WRA) remains poorly understood. We quantified the global burden and trends of key CKM‐related conditions and high body mass index (BMI)‐attributable burden among WRA.

Troelstra's Paradox and Markov's Principle

open access: yes, 2016
A prominent problem for the Theory of the Creating Subject isTroelstra's Paradox. As is well known, the construction of thatparadox depends on the acceptability of a certain impredicativity, ofa kind that some intuitionists accept and others do not ...

The Welfare and Distributional Consequences of Corporate Tax Cuts in Open Economies

open access: yesJournal of Money, Credit and Banking, EarlyView.
Abstract We develop an open‐economy heterogeneous household model with incomplete markets to quantitatively evaluate the welfare and distributional effects—both within and across countries—of the corporate tax cut (Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, TCJA) implemented in the U.S. in 2017. The model allows for examining outcomes under various possibilities including

Empirical‐Process Limit Theory and Filter Approximation Bounds for Score‐Driven Time Series Models

open access: yesJournal of Time Series Analysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article examines the filtering and approximation‐theoretic properties of score‐driven time series models. Under specific Lipschitz‐type and tail conditions, new results are derived, leading to maximal and deviation inequalities for the filtering approximation error using empirical process theory.

Testing Distributional Granger Causality With Entropic Optimal Transport

open access: yesJournal of Time Series Analysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We develop a novel nonparametric test for Granger causality in distribution based on entropic optimal transport. Unlike classical mean‐based approaches, the proposed method directly compares the full conditional distributions of a response variable with and without the history of a candidate predictor.

On Weak Markov's Principle [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
We show that the so-called weak Markov's principle (WMP) which states that every pseudo-positive real number is positive is underivable in T^{omega}:= E-HA^{omega} + AC.

Marchenko–Pastur Laws for Daniell Smoothed Periodograms

open access: yesJournal of Time Series Analysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Given a sample X0,…,Xn−1$$ {X}_0,\dots, {X}_{n-1} $$ from a d$$ d $$‐dimensional stationary time series (Xt)t∈ℤ$$ {\left({X}_t\right)}_{t\in \mathbb{Z}} $$, the most commonly used estimator for the spectral density matrix F(θ)$$ F\left(\theta \right) $$ at a given frequency θ∈[0,2π)$$ \theta \in \left[0,2\pi \right) $$ is the Daniell smoothed ...

Autoregressive Hypergraph

open access: yesJournal of Time Series Analysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Traditional graph representations are insufficient for modelling real‐world phenomena involving multi‐entity interactions, such as collaborative projects or protein complexes, necessitating the use of hypergraphs. While hypergraphs preserve the intrinsic nature of such complex relationships, existing models often overlook temporal evolution in
