Solving Stochastic Climate‐Economy Models: A Deep Least‐Squares Monte Carlo Approach

open access: yesMathematical Finance, Volume 36, Issue 4, Page 751-770, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Stochastic versions of recursive integrated climate‐economy assessment models are essential for studying and quantifying policy decisions under uncertainty. However, as the number of state variables and stochastic shocks increases, solving these models via deterministic grid‐based dynamic programming (e.g., value‐function iteration/projection ...

Dam Management in the Era of Climate Change

open access: yesMathematical Finance, Volume 36, Issue 4, Page 870-895, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Climate change has a dramatic impact, particularly by concentrating rainfall into a few short periods, interspersed with long dry spells. In this context, the role of dams is crucial. We consider the optimal control of a dam, where the water level must neither exceed a designated safety threshold nor fall below a minimum level to ensure ...

Design of a Three‐Phase PWM Rectifier Based on Improved Whale Optimization Algorithm Optimized Fuzzy Control

open access: yesAdvanced Control for Applications, Volume 8, Issue 3, September 2026.
Schematic diagram of the whale optimization algorithm (WOA)–optimized fuzzy proportional–integral–derivative (PID) controller. The WOA is employed to dynamically tune the scaling factor expressions and fuzzy control parameters (a(e)a(e), a(ec)a(ec), βpβp, βiβi), as well as the initial PID gains (kp0kp0, ki0ki0), based on the error (ee) and its ...

Mathematical Modeling of Pulse‐Seeded Metapopulation Dynamics for Andes Hantavirus Border Dispersal

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 9, September 2026.
A pulse‐seeded metapopulation SEIR model for Andes hantavirus maritime dispersal shows that heterogeneous quarantine compliance determines secondary outbreak risk. The weakest‐compliance country governs global containment, while uniform compliance above ∼65%$$ \sim 65\% $$ reduces the global reproduction number below unity.

The 95% CDIRAs, a Credible Interval Based Method to Capture Uncertainty in Population Modeling: Pharmacokinetics Versus Sum of Exponentials Case Study

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics &Systems Pharmacology, Volume 15, Issue 9, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Determining the credibility of population PK/PD models is a challenge, particularly when performing uncertainty quantification (UQ) for parameter estimates, which is often represented through relative standard error (RSE) values. It is important to note that RSE values are primarily based on the variance of the parameter distribution and is ...

On the Threshold for Triangulations Inside Convex Polygons

open access: yesRandom Structures &Algorithms, Volume 69, Issue 2, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Start with a large convex polygon and add all other edges inside independently with probability p$$ p $$. At what critical threshold pc$$ {p}_c $$ do triangulations of the polygon begin to appear? The first author and Gravner asked this question and observed that pc=Θ(1)$$ {p}_c=\Theta (1) $$, using the relationship with the Catalan numbers ...

Approximate Itai–Zehavi Conjecture for Random Graphs

open access: yesRandom Structures &Algorithms, Volume 69, Issue 2, September 2026.
ABSTRACT A famous conjecture by Itai and Zehavi states that, for every d$$ d $$‐vertex‐connected graph G$$ G $$ and every vertex r$$ r $$ in G$$ G $$, there are d$$ d $$ spanning trees of G$$ G $$ such that, for every vertex v$$ v $$ in G∖{r}$$ G\setminus \left\{r\right\} $$, the paths between r$$ r $$ and v$$ v $$ in different trees are internally ...

Consumer Behavior Analysis in Digital Marketing Using AI and Big Data Analytics: A Narrative Review and Methodological Taxonomy

open access: yesWIREs Data Mining and Knowledge Discovery, Volume 16, Issue 3, September 2026.
AI and Big Data in Consumer Behavior Analysis. ABSTRACT The rapid expansion of digital consumer data has challenged traditional approaches to understanding behavior in digital marketing. Existing reviews often focus on individual methods and give limited guidance on how analytical techniques compare or how they should be selected for specific marketing

Exploring the associations of generalized trust, climate change conspiracy beliefs and freecycling: Empirical evidence from 34 cultures

open access: yesBritish Journal of Psychology, Volume 117, Issue S1, Page S201-S223, September 2026.
Abstract This study examined the relationships between generalized trust, climate change conspiracy beliefs and freecycling – a community‐based free‐item sharing pro‐environmental behaviour. It also explored the role of societal factors in relation to participation in freecycling, as well as how they are associated with these relationships.

Revisiting the Health Spending‐Growth Nexus

open access: yesJournal of Economic Surveys, Volume 40, Issue 4, Page 2037-2055, September 2026.
ABSTRACT The relationship between health spending and economic growth is shaped by multiple transmission channels, leading to inconsistencies in the empirical literature and a lack of definitive conclusions. To address this issue, we perform a meta‐analysis encompassing 522 estimates from 107 studies that examine the effect of health spending on ...
