Logarithmic Sobolev inequalities for inhomogeneous Markov Semigroups [PDF]
We investigate the dissipativity properties of a class of scalar second order parabolic partial differential equations with time-dependent coefficients. We provide explicit condition on the drift term which ensure that the relative entropy of one particular orbit with respect to some other one decreases to zero. The decay rate is obtained explicitly by

A compact set without Markov's property but with an extension operator for C∞-functions [PDF]
We give an example of a compact set K ⊂ [0,1] such that the space ε(K) of Whitney functions is isomorphic to the space s of rapidly decreasing sequences, and hence there exists a linear continuous extension operator L : ε(K) → C∞[0,1].

Markov type inequalities for fuzzy integrals
Given a fuzzy measure space \((X,\Sigma,\mu)\) and a \(\mu\)-measurable nonnegative function \(f:X\to[0,\infty)\), a typical result from the paper is the following inequality: For ...

The Independence of Markov's Principle in Type Theory [PDF]
In this paper, we show that Markov's principle is not derivable in dependent type theory with natural numbers and one universe. One way to prove this would be to remark that Markov's principle does not hold in a sheaf model of type theory over Cantor ...

Breaking point: Identifying the factors that predict suspension from school
Abstract School suspensions are associated with adverse educational and psychosocial outcomes, yet little is known about how structural disadvantage, relational factors, health behaviours, well‐being indicators and school‐level factors jointly predict suspension risk in England.

Bernstein- and Markov-type inequalities [PDF]
This survey discusses the classical Bernstein and Markov inequalities for the derivatives of polynomials, as well as some of their extensions to general sets.

ABSTRACT Autologous cell therapy (AuCT) manufacturing networks must balance two competing objectives: reducing cost and improving patient access to time‐sensitive therapy. This study compares three AuCT manufacturing network designs: a centralized network with a single manufacturing facility, a coordinated point‐of‐care (POC) network in which POCs can ...

Vine copula knockoffs for variable selection in gene expression studies
Abstract Identifying clinical and genetic markers is essential for stratifying cancer patients by survival outcomes and guiding personalized treatment strategies. However, gene expression studies often involve high‐dimensional predictors with mixed data types and complex dependence, which complicates reliable variable selection.

Besov Spaces on d-Sets Preserving Markov's Inequality and Polynomial Interpolation
The purpose of this paper is to show that it is possible to de¯ne Besov spaces on d-sets, that preserve Markov's inequality by using local polynomial approximation of non-smooth spline type, which we obtain linearly from the functions of the Besov space.
