A Novel Two‐Stage Flexible Flow Shop Batch Scheduling Model for Grinding Workshops
ABSTRACT The growing need for data storage in data centers has increased the demand for mechanical hard disks due to their low cost and high reliability. Aluminum substrates are the most popular base plates for mechanical hard disks because of their high hardness and low cost.

Chernoff and Berry–Esséen inequalities for Markov processes [PDF]
In this paper, we develop bounds on the distribution function of the empirical mean for general ergodic Markov processes having a spectral gap. Our approach is based on the perturbation theory for linear operators, following the technique introduced by Gillman.

Cascade Deep Learning With Physics Guidance for Typhoon Intensity Prediction
ABSTRACT Typhoons pose a significant threat to both human safety and economic stability. As a crucial metric for assessing their destructive potential, typhoon intensity (TI) prediction has become an important research focus, with numerous methods developed.

Flexible unimodal density estimation in hidden Markov models
Abstract Hidden Markov models (HMMs) are powerful tools for modelling time‐series data with underlying state structure. However, selecting appropriate parametric forms for the state‐dependent distributions is often challenging and can lead to model misspecification.

Climate inequality report 2023 [PDF]
The climate crisis has begun to disrupt human societies by severely affecting the very foundations of human livelihood and social organisation. Climate impacts are not equally distributed across the world: on average, low- and middle-income countries ...
