Protein–protein association properties of human βB2‐crystallins
Abstract Protein–protein association events are involved in many physiological and pathological processes. Cataract disease is a pathology that manifests protein aggregation of crystallins. β‐Crystallins are present in a high proportion in the eye lens.

The unfolding of villin headpiece 35 (HP35) and a double‐norleucine variant (2F4K) using a temperature‐jump and time‐resolved X‐ray solution scattering is examined. HP35 displays a two‐state kinetic model, while 2F4K indicates a transient intermediate.

Polynomials Associated with Finite Markov Chains [PDF]
Given a finite Markov chain, we investigate the first minors of the transition matrix of a lifting of this Markov chain to covering trees. In a simple case we exhibit a nice factorisation of these minors, and we conjecture that it holds more generally.

Physics‐based inverse modeling of battery degradation with Bayesian methods
To further improve Lithium‐ion batteries (LiBs), a profound understanding of complex battery processes is crucial. Physical models offer understanding but are difficult to validate and parameterize. Therefore, automated machine‐learning methods (ML) are necessary to evaluate models with experimental data. Bayesian methods, e.g., Expectation Propagation

A Markov – Chain Model for the Tuberculosis in Salah Aldeen City (1991-1999) [PDF]
This paper studies a time series for the number of infection of Tuberculosis of the lungs as a Markov – chain. We have made hypotheses concerning the number of infections in order to set the problem according to Markov-chain.

Fully Coupled Forward-backward Stochastic Differential Equations on Markov Chains [PDF]
We define fully coupled forward-backward stochastic differential equations on spaces related to continuous time, finite state Markov Chains. Existence and uniqueness results of the fully coupled forward-backward stochastic differential equations on Markov Chains are obtained.

The Upper Permian Castile Formation of the Delaware Basin, a 515.3 m (1690.6 ft) thick deep‐water evaporitic sequence dominated by anhydrite and halite, is the focus of this study. This study's sedimentological and geochemical analysis of cores from the basin's centre and margin reveals that dynamic reflux of deep hypersaline brines significantly ...

Optimal control of multiple Markov-switching stochastic systems with numerical applications
In this article the authors set up an optimal control framework for a hybrid stochastic system with dual or multiple Markov switching diffusion processes, while Markov chains governing these switching diffusions are not identical as assumed in the ...

Analyzing the profit-loss sharing contracts with Markov model
The purpose of this paper is to examine how to use first order Markov chain to build a reliable monitoring system for the profit-loss sharing based contracts (PLS) as the mode of financing contracts in Islamic bank with censored continuous-time ...
