Autonomous truck platooning represents a transformative advancement in modern highway logistics, offering substantial benefits in fuel efficiency and traffic throughput. However, the practical deployment of such systems is frequently compromised by sensing limitations and environmental factors, particularly localization uncertainty and varying ...

This work considers a preemptive priority queueing system with vacation, where the single server may break down with imperfect coverage. Various combinations of server vacation priority queueing models have been studied by many scholars.

Exponential bounds for queues with Markovian arrivals
The main results of the paper deal with the bounds of the queue length distribution. Particularly, for the case of Markovian arrivals the exponential upper bounds are derived. These results are commented in the framework of several examples.

A Pincherle‐Type Convergence Theorem for Generalized Continued Fractions in Banach Algebras
This contribution is dedicated to the interdependence of higher order linear difference equations and generalized continued fractions in Banach algebras. It turns out that the computation of certain subdominant solutions of a higher order linear difference equation can be done more efficiently by considering its adjoint equation.

In this paper, a new generalized cost function construction for a single‐server multiphase queueing system with a Poisson input stream, hypoexponential‐k customer service time, and FIFO discipline is presented. A proposed relationship between service parameters in k phases is based on a geometric progression with rate α, 0 < α < 1.

The present investigation studies a hybrid hiatus policy for a finite-space Markovian queue, incorporating realistic features such as Bernoulli feedback, multiple servers, and balking customers. A hybrid hiatus policy combines both a working hiatus and a

Analysis of Switching the Purchase Option in a Two‐Commodity Perishable Inventory System
This research examines a queueing‐inventory model that includes two perishable commodities, each having a distinct lifetime, service duration, lead time, and individual (s, Q) ordering policy. The system consists of two finite‐capacity waiting zones for two distinct types of clients, with arrivals governed by independent Poisson processes.

Splitting for a non-Markovian tandem queue
In this talk, we consider a non-Markovian tandem queue and we use splitting in order to estimate the probability that the total number of customers in this tandem queue reaches some high level N during a busy cycle of the system.

Probabilistic analysis of buffer starvation in Markovian queues [PDF]
Our purpose in this paper is to obtain the \emph{exact distribution} of the number of buffer starvations within a sequence of $N$ consecutive packet arrivals. The buffer is modeled as an M/M/1 queue. When the buffer is empty, the service restarts after a certain amount of packets are \emph{prefetched}.

ABSTRACT The COVID‐19 pandemic has reverberated across global industries, including the international container shipping industry, where freight rates have become highly volatile. However, shipping lines appeared to thrive, particularly during the pandemic's initial 2 years.
