Effect of Stretch on Local Burning Velocity of Premixed Turbulent Flames

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Science and Technology, 2007
The effect of positive stretch on the local flame properties of turbulent propagating flames in the flamelet regime was investigated experimentally for methane-, hydrogen- and propane-air mixtures with lean and rich having nearly the same laminar burning

Experimental Study on Local Flame Properties of Hydrogen Added Hydrocarbon Premixed Turbulent Flames

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Science and Technology, 2009
This experimental study is performed to investigate directly the local flame properties of turbulent propagating flames at the same weak turbulence condition (u'/SL0=1.4), in order to clarify basically the influence of the addition of hydrogen to ...

Flame propagation in arbitrarily shaped vessels

open access: yesProceedings in Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, Volume 18, Issue 1, December 2018., 2018
Abstract A new method to capture the flame front in premixed, confined, low Mach number combustion using the flame‐sheet approximation is presented. Connected marker points represent the flame front along which a singular volumetric flux source is prescribed. Thus, the jump condition for the normal velocity is fulfilled.

Equivolumetric Evolution of Planar Curves

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, Volume 2014, Issue 1, 2014., 2014
We present the equivolumetric evolution of planar curves, which is a new type of curvature dependent evolution for a flame propagation model. This evolution reflects the nonlinear contribution of the curvature of the front to the flame propagation speed. We also present some numerical results of the equivolumetric evolution using the level set method.

Effect of Hydrogen Content and Dilution on Laminar Burning Velocity and Stability Characteristics of Producer Gas‐Air Mixtures

open access: yesJournal of Combustion, Volume 2008, Issue 1, 2008., 2008
Producer gas is one of the promising alternative fuels with typical constituents of H2, CO, CH4, N2, and CO2. The laminar burning velocity of producer gas was computed for a wide range of operating conditions. Flame stability due to preferential diffusional effects was also investigated. Computations were carried out for spherical outwardly propagating

Flame acceleration in unconfined lean hydrogen-oxygen mixtures using a hemispherical soap bubble method

open access: yesGreen Energy and Resources
This study investigates the flame acceleration dynamics in lean hydrogen-oxygen mixtures, focusing on critical parameters such as Péclet number, Markstein number, and the acceleration exponent.

Relative impact of native and non‐native plants on endangered species in a major European City

open access: yesJournal of Applied Ecology, Volume 63, Issue 1, January 2026.
This first city‐wide assessment of threats to multiple populations of endangered plant species provides a foundation for targeted threat management in urban contexts. Maintaining habitat quality and optimizing land use will be most effective in protecting endangered species from competitive pressures.

Toward Personalized Stationary Chromatography Phases: Equipping Commercial Silica Phases with Selected Peptide‐Based Binding Domains to Tailor Affinity

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 12, Issue 11, June 9, 2025.
The 7‐mer peptide motifs QFFLFFQ, QFFEFFQ, and QFQQSFF, known as good, medium, and poor binders for the photosensitizers m‐THPC and Chlorin E6 are covalently immobilized on commercial amino‐functionalized silica particles by inverse electron‐demand Diels‐Alder ligation.
