The S1025 peptide is the major antidote to the YrzI toxin, which we renamed here as SpyT (Small Peptide YrzI Toxin) and SpyA (Small Peptide YrzI Antitoxin) (1). Degradation of the toxin–antitoxin spyTA mRNA, either by a translation‐dependent cleavage by the endoribonuclease Rae1 (2) or by direct attack by 3′‐exoribonucleases (3), also contributes to ...

Global optimization using mixed integer quadratic programming on non-convex two-way interaction truncated linear multivariate adaptive regression splines [PDF]
Multivariate adaptive regression splines (MARS) is a flexible statistical modeling method that has been popular for data mining applications. MARS has also been employed to approxmiate unknown relationships in optimzation for complex systems, including surrogate optimization, dynamic programming, and two-stage stochastic programming.

In this explorative biomarker analysis, we assessed serial sampling of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) with CellSearch in two randomized trials testing immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) in metastatic breast cancer. Our data demonstrate a prognostic potential of CTCs, most apparent 4 weeks into ICI therapy.

Hijacking the BAF complex: the mechanistic interplay of ARID1A and EWS::FLI1 in Ewing sarcoma
Ewing sarcoma is driven by the EWS::FLI1 fusion protein, which disrupts gene expression by hijacking the BAF complex via ARID1A. ARID1A's ability to form biomolecular condensates is crucial for tumor growth, making it a potential therapeutic target. However, targeting these transient condensates is challenging, requiring further research. Ewing sarcoma,

Clay mineral diversity and abundance in sedimentary rocks of Gale crater, Mars
Clay minerals found in Gale crater, Mars, record surficial chemical weathering and changing conditions in an ancient lake. Clay minerals provide indicators of the evolution of aqueous conditions and possible habitats for life on ancient Mars. Analyses by

Axiomatic Differential Geometry I-1 [PDF]
In this paper we give an axiomatization of differential geometry comparable to model categories for homotopy theory. Weil functors play a predominant role.

Adaptive ERK reactivation hinders FLT3 tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) treatment in FLT3/ITD acute myeloid leukemia. Here, we report that FLT3 TKI treatment rapidly induces AXL expression and upregulation that is temporally associated with the adaptive ERK reactivation.
