Simvastatin induces human gut bacterial cell surface genes
Host‐targeted drugs have broad off‐target effects on the human microbiota; we focused on the impact of the anti‐cholesterol drug simvastatin on bacterial growth and gene expression. These results provide a valuable foundation to understand bacterial drug sensitivity and inform ongoing studies in humans and animal models.
