A Newly Developed Ground Truth Dataset for Visual Saliency in Videos
Visual saliency models aim to detect important and eye catching portions in a scene by exploiting human visual system characteristics. The effectiveness of visual saliency models is evaluated by comparing saliency maps with a ground truth data set.

Computation‐Less, Bias‐Free, and Ultra‐Broadband Photodetector for On‐Chip Edge Extraction
A computation‐less, bias‐free, and ultra‐broadband photodetector directly converts local optical‐intensity gradients into signed photocurrents through a position‐dependent bi‐directional photoresponse. This intrinsic physical sensing mechanism enables single‐pixel edge extraction from the near‐infrared to the long‐wave infrared at room temperature ...

Stepwise dual‐side functionalization creates covalent Janus graphene with chemically and electrostatically asymmetric interfaces. The resulting nonadditive surface‐potential response and pronounced charge‐transport modulation demonstrate a versatile route for tailoring the electronic properties of graphene.

Noise frame duration, masking potency and whiteness of temporal noise.
Because of the limited contrast range, increasing the duration of the noise frame is often the only option for increasing the masking potency of external, white temporal noise. This, however, reduces the high-frequency cutoff beyond which noise is no longer white.

Millifluidic Synthesis of Core–Shell Resonators For Tunable Sonic BandGaps in Acoustic Metamaterials
Millimeter‐scale core–shell acoustic resonators are fabricated by a gravity‐assisted dripping approach and incorporated into epoxy composites at controlled volume fractions. The resulting alumina–core resonator composites show tunable low‐frequency acoustic attenuation, demonstrating a scalable route for integrating locally resonant metamaterial units ...

Surrogate‐Optimized Flow‐Guided Miniature Condenser for Rapid Exhaled Glucose Detection
A surrogate‐optimized miniature condenser guides humid exhaled flow toward cold surfaces to accelerate exhaled breath condensate collection. By improving vapor access within a compact footprint, the design increases sample yield. This enables post‐collection enrichment and rapid colorimetric glucose detection from dilute exhaled biomarkers within a 5 ...
