Self-calibrating mass flow sensor
A comprehensive analysis was conducted for increased accuracy and self-calibration for a mass flow sensing system on a combine. This was undertaken as part of the John Deere Technology Innovation Center (JDTIC)-sponsored research program “Self ...

ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP9) drives ovarian cancer progression. Using MMP9‐null cells (M9‐KO) created from ovarian cancer cells, we found MMP9 loss did not block Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)‐driven E‐cadherin dissolution or EMT but delayed and reduced EGF‐driven membrane protrusions. Transient MMP9 re‐expression drove membrane protrusion.

This study explores the feasibility of expressing the antitumoral protein Amblyomin‐X through a suicide gene therapy approach and investigates its intracellular fate after gene delivery. Although the gene is efficiently expressed, melanoma cells rapidly degrade the Amblyomin‐X protein via proteasome activity.

Systemic dysregulation of apolipoproteins in amyotrophic lateral sclerosis serum
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is a fatal disease that damages motor neurons. This study found that people with ALS show significant changes in blood fats and the proteins that carry them. Several apolipoproteins were higher, lipid balances were altered, and normal protein–lipid relationships were disrupted.

Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Web-based Operation of Mass Flow Rate Measuring Instruments
The paper introduces a solution for a web-based operation of mass flow rate measuring instruments (LeanTMF-Net). The system is based on Ethernet link moduls for HART process data and an event-based real- time web-visualization The LeanTMF-Net can be flexibly adapted to the relevant user conditions thanks to the transparent and user-independent ...

An experimental and theoretical study of buoyancy driven air-flow in a half-scale stairwell model
This thesis was submitted for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy and awarded by Brunel University. The buoyancy-driven air flow and the associated energy transfer within a half-scale stairwell model have been investigated experimentally and theoretically.
