Intermediate Mass-Ratio Black Hole Binaries: Applicability of Small Mass-Ratio Perturbation Theory [PDF]
The dynamics of merging black hole binaries with small mass-ratios (SMR) can be expressed as a series in the symmetric mass-ratio, the post-adiabatic expansion. Using numerical relativity simulations, we compute the first three terms in this series for quasicircular non-spinning binaries. We recover the leading term predicted by SMR perturbation theory,

Experimental Thermal Hazard Investigation of Pressure and EC/PC/EMC Mass Ratio on Electrolyte
Electrolytes are involved in the thermal runaway (TR) process of cells, which is a potential hazard in lithium-ion batteries (LIBs). Therefore, the effects of different mass ratio of carbonate solvents (ethylene carbonate (EC)/propylene carbonate (PC ...

Mass-gap extreme mass ratio inspirals
In this work, we propose a new subclass of extreme-mass-ratio-inspirals (EMRIs): mass-gap EMRIs, consisting of a compact object in the lower mass gap $\sim (2.5-5) M_\odot$ and a massive black hole (MBH). The mass-gap object (MGO) may be a primordial black hole or produced from a delayed supernova explosion.

Criteria for Dynamical Timescale Mass Transfer of Metal-poor Intermediate-mass Stars [PDF]
The stability criteria of rapid mass transfer and common envelope evolution are fundamental in binary star evolution. They determine the mass, mass ratio and orbital distribution of many important systems, such as X-ray binaries, Type Ia supernovae and merging gravitational wave sources. We use our adiabatic mass-loss model to systematically survey the

Mass, Capacitary Functions, and the Mass-to-Capacity Ratio
We study connections among the ADM mass, positive harmonic functions tending to zero at infinity, and the capacity of the boundary of asymptotically flat $3$-manifolds with nonnegative scalar curvature. First we give new formulae that detect the ADM mass via harmonic functions.
