Influence of the host diet on the performance of Doryctobracon areolatus (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) [PDF]

open access: yesBrazilian Journal of Biology, 2019
Fitness in parasitoids is generally influenced by host quality. We evaluated the development parameters of Doryctobracon areolatus (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) parasitoid on Anastrepha fraterculus (Diptera: Tephritidae) larvae, reared in artificial diets ...

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

Evaluation of various diets and oviposition substrates for rearing Orius albidipennis Reuter [PDF]

open access: yesنامه انجمن حشره‌شناسی ایران, 2016
A suitable diet and oviposition substrate are two basic needs for successful mass rearing of Orius spp. and this may reduce their production costs. The effect of various foods containing eggs of Ephestia kuehniella and Sitotroga cerealella with various ...

The role of mass-rearing in weed biological control projects in South Africa

open access: yes, 2021
It has been documented that the continual release of high numbers of biological control (biocontrol) agents for weeds increases the likelihood of agent establishment and has been shown to reduce the time between the first release and subsequent control ...

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Black and White: Modified Black-Bottom Containers for Mass Egg Collection of Wolbachia-Infected Aedes aegypti

open access: yesInsects
Efficient egg collection is important for large-scale mosquito rearing, but it presents logistical challenges and often yields suboptimal egg numbers in mass rearing cages.

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

MASS PRODUCTION OF Scotinophara coarctata FAB. EGGS FOR MASS REARING Telenomus triptus (NIXON) PARASITOID

open access: yesAnnals of Tropical Research, 1992
Telenomus triptus (Nixon) (Hymenoptera: Scelionidae) is an efficient egg parasitoid of the Malayan black bug (MBB) Scotinophara coarctata (Fab.) (Hemiptera: Pentatomidae), a serious pest of rice in Palawan Island, Philippines.
