Measurement of the Elemental Composition of Materials by Electron Mass Spectrum [PDF]

open access: yesЖурнал нано- та електронної фізики, 2016
The work is concerned with a multichannel detector consisting of mass spectrometer that implements the functions of registration, generation of ion-electron avalanche and giving out information about their number in each channel in the form of logical ...

Hybrid mass spectrometers for tandem mass spectrometry [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the American Society for Mass Spectrometry, 2008
Mass spectrometers that use different types of analyzers for the first and second stages of mass analysis in tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS) experiments are often referred to as "hybrid" mass spectrometers. The general goal in the design of a hybrid instrument is to combine different performance characteristics offered by various types of analyzers ...

Optimization of chromatographic conditions and comparison of extraction efficiencies of four different methods for determination and quantification of pesticide content in bovine milk by UFLC-MS/MS

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2014
This paper describes the optimization of a multiresidue chromatographic analysis for the identification and quantification of 20 pesticides in bovine milk, including three carbamates, a carbamate oxime, six organophosphates, two strobilurins, a ...

Enhanced Lipid Production in Chlamydomonas reinhardtii Caused by Severe Iron Deficiency

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2021
Microalgae are used as a source of lipids for the production of biofuels. Most algae produce neutral lipids under stress conditions. Here, lipid accumulation by the unicellular alga Chlamydomonas reinhardtii was examined during cultivation under iron ...

Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

High-resolution mass spectrometry and velocity map imaging for ultrafast electron dynamics in complex biomolecules [PDF]

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2019
We present a design combining a velocity map imaging electron spectrometer with a reflectron mass spectrometer. Since the two spectrometer sides have different intrinsic requirements for the electric field in the central region, a large number of ...

Thermal Decomposition of Ammonium Dinitramide (ADN) as Green Energy Source for Space Propulsion

open access: yesAerospace, 2023
The thermal decomposition of an ammonium dinitramide-based energetic compound was conducted for the first time using a dispersive inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometer, DTA-TG analysis, and pyrolysis at a constant temperature. A liquid droplet was

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Developing of MERTIS as an advanced process from the study up to the flight model

open access: yes, 2013
ESA’s mission BepiColombo will be launched in 2016. MERTIS (Mercury Radiometer and Thermal imaging Spectrometer) is one of the key instruments. MERTIS is an imaging infrared spectrometer and radiometer using an uncooled detector technology with very ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.
