Vacuum impregnation in Merluccius hubbsi hake fillets brining. Effect on mass transfer kinetics, texture and colour

, 2020
Brining is a preliminary process for the development of many traditional and innovative fish products. We analysed the use of vacuum impregnation (VI) in hake fillets brining (10 g NaCl/100 mL solution, 4 ± 2 °C).

Mass transfer kinetics in pressure swing adsorption

Separation and Purification Technology, 2000
Many mass transfer kinetic models are used to study varying pressure steps of a pressure swing adsorption (PSA) cycle, namely pressurization and blowdown steps. It is shown that the choice of an appropriate model to account for intra-particle diffusional limitations is essential to simulate accurately PSA processes.

The phenomenological mass transfer kinetics model for Sr2+ sorption onto spheroids primary microplastics.

Environmental Pollution, 2019
In this paper, the equilibrium and mass transfer kinetics of Sr2+ sorption onto 3 types of microplastics, including polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polyethylene (PE), and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) were investigated. A novel film-pore mass transfer (FPMT)

Kinetics and mass‐transfer phenomena in anaerobic granular sludge

Biotechnology and Bioengineering, 2001
AbstractThe kinetic properties of acetate‐degrading methanogenic granular sludge of different mean diameters were assessed at different up‐flow velocities (Vup). Using this approach, the influence of internal and external mass transfer could be estimated.

A new methane hydrate decomposition model considering intrinsic kinetics and mass transfer

Chemical Engineering Journal, 2019
Kinetics of the hydrate decomposition is crucial for the industrial application of hydrate related technologies, but there still remains challenges for describing and modeling its microscopic mechanism. Based on the concepts and achievements published by

Recent Progress and Perspectives of Direct Ink Writing Applications for Mass Transfer Enhancement in Gas‐Phase Adsorption and Catalysis

Small Methods, 2023
Conventional adsorbents and catalysts shaped by granulation or extrusion have high pressure drop and poor flexibility for chemical, energy, and environmental processes. Direct ink writing (DIW), a kind of 3D printing, has evolved into a crucial technique

Interphase mass transfer between liquid-liquid counter-current flows. II. Mass transfer kinetics

Journal of Engineering Physics and Thermophysics, 2007
A theoretical analysis of mass-transfer kinetics based on the method of similarity variables for a liquid-liquid counter-current flow has been made. The numerical results obtained for the mass-transfer rate (Sherwood number) in the case of a laminar boundary layer with a flat interphase are compared with analogous results for a co-current flow.

Mass-Transfer Kinetics in a Shell Packing Material for Chromatography

Analytical Chemistry, 2007
A shell particle consists of a solid, nonporous core that is surrounded with a shell of a porous solid having essentially the same physicochemical properties as those of the conventional porous particles used as packing media in chromatography. The diameter of the solid core and the thickness of its shell or the external diameter of the particle ...
