Mass-Transfer Kinetics in the Presence of Cavitation

1973
The current hypotheses concerning the interrelationship of the degassing and cavitation processes are extremely conflicting. Some authors [70, 88] believe that the degassing of a liquid is possible only when cavitation is present, after the formation of vapor-gas cavities, which, increasing in size due to diffusion and coalescence, escape from the ...

Heat- and mass-transfer approach to decomposition kinetics

Thermochimica Acta, 1991
Abstract Despite justifiable doubts concerning applicability of the Arrhenius equation to reversible thermal decomposition of solids, a viable alternative is lacking. This paper is intended to contribute to the general discussion in this area and to propose a new approach, based on a combination of diffusion and heat transfer, with the Clausius ...

Kinetics of mass transfer among silicates and aqueous solutions

Geochimica et Cosmochimica Acta, 1971
Abstract Theoretical and empirical considerations suggest that the kinetics of mass transfer among aluminosilicates and aqueous solutions can be described by a simple parabolic rate law, which is consistent with diffusional mass transfer and applicable to incongruent as well as congruent reactions.
