Meso-Scale Kinematic Indicators in Exhumed Mass Transport Deposits: Definitions and Implications [PDF]
In this study we combine observations and analytical data from large-scale (10-100s of m-thick and 100 m(2)-extensive), siliciclastic and carbonate MTD/MTCs belonging to the Oligocene - Miocene foredeep and wedge-top successions of the Northern Apennines and the Paleocene - Eocene Friuli basin of the northwestern Dinarides (Italy and Slovenia), to ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Predicting the depositional environments and transportation mechanisms of sediments using granulometric parameters, bivariate and multivariate analyses [PDF]
Grain size distribution and classes present in sedimentary rocks are responsive to the physical changes of the transporting media and the basin of deposition.

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...

The 1601 CE earthquake (Mw ca. 5.9) in “Unterwalden,” Central Switzerland, triggered multiple subaqueous mass movements and a subaerial rockfall that generated tsunami waves with run‐up heights of up to 4 m and several hundred meters of inundation along ...

Effects of population density on the sediment mixing induced by the gallery-diffusor Hediste (Nereis) diversicolor O.F. Müller, 1776 [PDF]
The aim of this work was to quantify the intensity of sediment mixing induced by the gallery-diffusor (functional bioturbation group) Hediste diversicolor as a function of density, using particles tracers (luminophores).

AZD9291 has shown promise in targeted cancer therapy but is limited by resistance. In this study, we employed metabolic labeling and LC–MS/MS to profile time‐resolved nascent protein perturbations, allowing dynamic tracking of drug‐responsive proteins. We demonstrated that increased NNMT expression is associated with drug resistance, highlighting NNMT ...

Dark matter sterile neutrinos in stellar collapse: alteration of energy/lepton number transport and a mechanism for supernova explosion enhancement [PDF]
We investigate matter-enhanced Mikheyev-Smirnov-Wolfenstein (MSW) active-sterile neutrino conversion in the $\nu_e \rightleftharpoons \nu_s$ channel in the collapse of the iron core of a pre-supernova star.
