Predicting Coronal Mass Ejection Travel Times Using Enhanced Model‐Guided Machine Learning
Abstract Coronal mass ejections (CMEs) are key drivers of space weather events, posing risks to both space‐borne and ground‐based systems. An accurate prediction of their arrival time at Earth is critical for impact mitigation. To this end, physics‐informed artificial intelligence (AI) approaches have proven more effective than purely data‐driven or ...

Spanish stock returns, growth, and inflation, 1900–2020
Abstract This paper studies equity returns in the Madrid Stock Exchange and their connections with the macroeconomy from the emergence of a stock market around 1900 to its ‘big bang’ at the turn of the twenty‐first century. Using high‐quality data from primary sources and the methodology of the modern IBEX35 (published since 1987), we constructed an ...

How physiology solves the gene‐centric impasse
Abstract The criteria for distinguishing between association and causation in studies of genes and function are clarified. Genomic association scores alone cannot satisfy those criteria, which is why treatment of common diseases has not benefitted from the cures expected when the Human Genome Project was launched.
