Mast cell sarcoma: clinical management.
Immunology and allergy clinics of North America, 2015Mast cell sarcoma is a disorder that results in abnormal mast cells as identified by morphology, special stains, and in some publications, c-kit mutation analysis. It affects animal species such as canines more commonly than humans. In humans it is a very rare condition, with variable clinical presentation. There is no standard therapy for the disorder.

Morphologic and Immunophenotypic Properties of Neoplastic Cells in a Case of Mast Cell Sarcoma
The American Journal of Surgical Pathology, 2003Mast cell sarcoma is an extremely rare and aggressive type of mast cell disease. Only a few cases have been described so far, and little is known about the biology and phenotype of afflicted cells. We describe morphologic and immunophenotypic properties of neoplastic mast cells in a case of an intracranial mast cell sarcoma.

Lymphoid leucaemia in a dog after chemotherapy for mast cell sarcomas
Australian Veterinary Journal, 1989SUMMARYA 10‐year‐old Golden Labrador developed a well‐differentiated lymphoid cell leucaemia during chemotherapy for a malignant mast cell tumour. Similar treatment had been carried out 2 years previously for another mast cell tumour. The possibility of an association between the anti‐neoplastic chemotherapy and the lymphatic leucaemia is discussed.

The Prognostic Significance of Mast Cell Count in Soft Tissue Sarcomas
International Journal of Surgical Pathology, 1999Mast cells (MC) are known to play an important role in IgE-dependent allergic reaction, host defense against parasite infestation, local hemostasis, inflammation, and angiogenesis. The significance of MC in tumor surveillance has been studied with conflicting results.

Mast cell sarcoma with tissue eosinophilia arising in the ascending colon.
Modern pathology : an official journal of the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology, Inc, 1999Mast cell sarcoma is a rare disease. We report an unusual case of this neoplasm arising in the ascending colon of a 32-year-old Japanese woman who presented with abdominal pain. An ulcerating mass in the colon was resected, along with enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes. Two years after surgery, the neoplasm recurred as left cervical lymphadenopathy and an

Histopathology of a spontaneously developing mast cell sarcoma in a Wistar rat
1996A case report is given of a very rare spontaneous mast cell tumor in the eyelid of the left eye of a female Wistar rat used in a long-term oral toxicity study. Metastasis of the tumor had occurred in the mandibular lymph nodes and in the liver. Clinically, the animal showed blepharospasm, dacryorrhoea, and exophthalmus.
