Mast Cells and Tumor Progression.

Blood, 2009
Abstract Abstract SCI-33 Interactions between tumorigenic cells and their surrounding microenvironment are critical for tumor progression yet remain incompletely understood. Germline mutations in the NF1 tumor suppressor gene cause neurofibromatosis type 1 (NF1), a common genetic disorder characterized by complex tumors ...

Mast Cells and Tumor Microenvironment

2010
Increasing evidence indicates that a unique immune cell, the mast cell, accumulates in the stroma surrounding certain tumors, especially mammary and pancreatic adenocarcinoma, as well as melanoma. Many molecules secreted by mast cells could benefit the tumor in at least four ways: (1) angiogenin, heparin and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF ...

Mouse mast cells as anti-tumor effector cells

Cellular Immunology, 1980
Abstract Mast cells were obtained in a high state of purity from mouse peritoneal washings by means of centrifugation over metrizamide density gradients. In microcytotoxicity assays in vitro they were cytotoxic to cells of a mouse methylcholanthrene-induced fibrosarcoma (C-4).

The sulfomucopolysaccharides from a mast cell tumor of the mouse

Biochemical Pharmacology, 1963
Abstract Sulfomucopolysaccharides prepared from a murine mast cell tumor were fractionated by chromatography on Ecteola, by precipitation with cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, and by paper chromatography. The crude extract of murine sulfomucopolysaccharides, when extracted by the same procedure that was used to extract bovine Sulfomucopolysaccharides,

Solitary Mast Cell Tumor

Archives of Dermatology, 1969
Cutaneous mastocytosis occurs in children in two forms: a solitary tumor and a disseminated eruption known as urticaria pigmentosa. The observation of a single lesion preceding a widespread eruption is an unusual occurrence. The development of the disease in a Negro is rare.

Immunoglobulin Receptors on a Mouse Mast Cell Tumor

The Journal of Immunology, 1972
Abstract Surface receptors for IgG immunoglobulins have been demonstrated on a mouse mast cell tumor growing in tissue culture. Inhibition of rosette formation between mastocytoma cells and IgG-coated SRBC by purified mouse immunoglobulins indicated receptor specificity for all known IgG globulin classes but not for IgM, IgA or light ...

Role of mast cells in tumor growth.

Annals of clinical and laboratory science, 2007
The growth of malignant tumors is determined in large part by the proliferative capacity of the tumor cells. Clinical observations and animal experiments have established that tumor cells elicit immune responses. Histopathologic studies show that many tumors are surrounded by mononuclear cell and mast cell infiltrates.

Mast Cells in Tumor Fate

2019
It is now well documented that neoplastic cells are influenced by their microenvironment and viceversa. The specific organ microenvironment determines the extent of cancer cell proliferation, angiogenesis, invasion and survival.
