The Changing Landscape of Hantavirus Infections: A Narrative Review of Epidemiology, Pathogenesis, and Countermeasures

open access: yesReviews in Medical Virology, Volume 36, Issue 5, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Hantaviruses are emerging zoonotic pathogens of increasing global public health significance. Their epidemiological landscape is rapidly changing due to ecological disruption, climate variability, urbanisation, and evolving human–animal interfaces.

Creb3l1 Overexpression Improves Flexor Tendon Repair in Aged Rats

open access: yesAging Cell, Volume 25, Issue 9, September 2026.
Aging impairs flexor tendon repair, with aged tendons showing reduced Col1a1 and Sparc expression and compromised mechanical properties. The transcription factor Creb3l1 binds both gene promoters and drives their expression; its overexpression restores Col1a1 and Sparc levels and improves the gliding function, healing strength, and elastic modulus of ...

ADSC‐Derived CCL8 Regulates HIF‐1α Signaling and Promotes Colorectal Cancer Progression in a 3D Coculture Platform

open access: yesCancer Science, Volume 117, Issue 9, Page 2480-2495, September 2026.
Schematic illustration showing how CRC‐associated ADSC‐derived CCL8 promotes colorectal cancer cell migration through ERK/HIF‐1α signaling in a 3D coculture platform. ABSTRACT This study aimed to recapitulate adipose‐tumor interactions within the colorectal cancer (CRC) tumor microenvironment (TME) and to elucidate the role of adipose‐derived stem ...

The HMG‐CoA Reductase Inhibitor Fluvastatin Promotes Th2‐Skewed Immune Responses by Modulating Dendritic Cell Differentiation

open access: yesGenes to Cells, Volume 31, Issue 5, September 2026.
Fluvastatin promotes Th2‐skewed immune responses through direct effects on CD4+ T cells and, importantly, by altering dendritic cells (DCs) during differentiation. Continuous exposure at a near‐physiological concentration modifies DC phenotype and enhances their subsequent Th2‐polarizing capacity.

Oral PHGG ameliorates atopic dermatitis‐like dermatitis with concurrent modulation of colonic IgA and cecal microbiota: implications for the gut–skin axis

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, Volume 106, Issue 11, Page 6380-6394, 30 August 2026.
Abstract BACKGROUND Atopic dermatitis (AD) is increasingly recognized as a systemic inflammatory disorder linked to intestinal immune and microbiome dysregulation. However, whether dietary galactomannan fibers can mitigate AD through coordinated modulation of the gut–skin axis remains unexplored.

Soil and Forest Degradation Driven by Cattle Grazing and Selective Logging in Sub‐Antarctic Nothofagus Ecosystems of Patagonia

open access: yesLand Degradation &Development, Volume 37, Issue 14, Page 10532-10545, 30 August 2026.
ABSTRACT Soil and forest degradation driven by chronic land‐use pressures is an increasingly widespread process in forested landscapes worldwide, yet its empirical characterization remains limited, particularly in temperate and sub‐Antarctic ecosystems.
