Reducing low‐dose exposure in helical TomoTherapy for locally advanced left‐sided breast cancer with a deformable image registration–based dose‐mimicking workflow

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 27, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract Background Helical TomoTherapy provides highly conformal dose distributions for breast irradiation but is limited by extensive low‐dose spillage (“low‐dose bath”), contributing to increased integral dose and potential long‐term toxicities. Complete blocks can suppress low‐dose spread, but at the cost of prolonged treatment times on legacy ...

Hemorrhagic Invasive Ductal Carcinoma with Immunohistological Expression of Beta-subunit HCG : A Case Report

open access: yesSiriraj Medical Journal, 2020
A hemorrhagic breast mass was excised from a 27-year-old female. Microscopically, the tumor showed typical areas of invasive ductal carcinoma with intraductal component admixed with some trophoblast-like tumor giant cells in the hemorrhagic area.

Commissioning of a Monte Carlo‐based scanning proton beam for breast cancer: Incorporating LETd calculations and variable RBE models

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 27, Issue 2, February 2026.
Abstract Background Using a constant relative biological effectiveness (RBE = 1.1) in proton therapy may underestimate the RBE‐weighted dose in high linear energy transfer (LET) regions at the distal end of the beam, thereby limiting the ability to accurately predict clinical outcomes.

Breast Events After Treatment of Ductal Carcinoma In Situ in Women: A Population‐Based Study

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Despite favourable survival prognosis, the main concern for ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) is local recurrence, especially progression to invasive cancer. This study identified factors associated with breast events following DCIS treatment.

Prognosis of Metaplastic Breast Cancer: A Population‐Based Matched Cohort Study

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 2, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose Metaplastic breast cancer (metBC) is a rare subtype of breast cancer known for its challenging management. The impact of this histological subtype on prognosis remains unclear. Methods Data were collected from the Swedish Cancer Registry between 2008 and 2018.

Metformin‐Mediated Glycaemic Regulation as a Potential Strategy for Breast Cancer Prevention

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 2, February 2026.
Metformin (MET), a common antihyperglycemic drug, shows promising anti‐cancer effects in breast cancer (BC). It activates adenosine monophosphate‐activated protein kinase (AMPK), regulating cellular energy and inducing cell cycle arrest, anti‐proliferation, and microenvironment alterations.

Pleural Metastasis From Male Breast Cancer: A Case Report

open access: yesDiagnostic Cytopathology, Volume 54, Issue 2, Page E36-E39, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Male breast cancer (MBC) is a rare disease accounting for less than 1% of breast cancers and for 0.11% of all male malignancies. Despite the fact that the epidemiologic, clinical, and therapeutic literature regarding female breast cancer is well documented, little is known about the features of male breast cancer.
