The role of trust in the acceptance of adjuvant endocrine therapy in breast cancer patients

open access: yesPsycho-Oncology, Volume 31, Issue 12, Page 2122-2131, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Objective Despite adjuvant endocrine therapy (AET) considerably reducing mortality and recurrence in hormonal receptor‐positive (HR+) breast cancer (BC) patients, acceptance of AET remains an issue. The reasoning behind the lack of acceptance is complex and multifactorial, and some associated risk factors have been previously analyzed.

Changes in and predictors of length of stay in hospital after surgery for breast cancer between 1997/98 and 2004/05 in two regions of England: a population-based [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
BACKGROUND Decreases in length of stay (LOS) in hospital after breast cancer surgery can be partly attributed to the change to less radical surgery, but many other factors are operating at the patient, surgeon and hospital levels.

Efficacy of ultrasound-guided erector spinae plane block on postoperative quality of recovery and analgesia after modified radical mastectomy: randomized controlled trial

open access: yesRegional anesthesia and pain medicine, 2019
Background Erector spinae plane block (ESPB) is a novel regional anesthesia technique that is gaining popularity for postoperative pain management. This randomized controlled trial evaluated the effect of ESPB on quality of recovery (QoR) in patients ...

Duration of the patient interval in breast cancer and factors associated with longer delays in low‐and middle‐income countries: A systematic review with meta‐analysis

open access: yesPsycho-Oncology, Volume 32, Issue 1, Page 13-24, January 2023., 2023
Abstract Objective Breast cancer survival is lower in low‐ and middle‐income countries (LMICs) partially due to many women being diagnosed with late‐stage disease. The patient interval refers to the time elapsed between the detection of symptoms and the first consultation with a healthcare provider and is considered one of the core indicators for early

The impact of loco-regional recurrences on metastatic progression in early-stage breast cancer: a multistate model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
To study whether the effects of prognostic factors associated with the occurrence of distant metastases (DM) at primary diagnosis change after the incidence of loco-regional recurrences (LRR) among women treated for invasive stage I or II breast cancer ...

Ultrasound-Guided Erector Spinae Plane Block Compared to Modified Pectoral Plane Block for Modified Radical Mastectomy Operations

open access: yesAnesthesia Essays and Researches, 2019
Background: Modified radical mastectomy (MRM) is the most common surgery for cancer breast that is associated with marked postoperative pain. Effective control of this pain suppresses the surgical stress response and decreases the opioids and general ...

Pectoral nerve block in anesthesia for modified radical mastectomy

open access: yesMedicine, 2019
Background: Many types of regional nerve blocks have been used during anesthesia for modified radical mastectomy. In recent years, the use of pectoral nerve (PECS) block has gained importance in postoperative analgesia, but there are still controversies ...

On Graded Radically Principal Ideals [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2021
Let $R$ be a commutative $G$-graded ring with a nonzero unity. In this article, we introduce the concept of graded radically principal ideals. A graded ideal $I$ of $R$ is said to be graded radically principal if $Grad(I)=Grad(\langle c\rangle)$ for some homogeneous $c\in R$, where $Grad(I)$ is the graded radical of $I$.

A randomised controlled trial of the pectoral nerves‐2 (PECS‐2) block for radical mastectomy

open access: yesAnaesthesia, 2019
We randomly allocated 50 women scheduled for radical mastectomy to pectoral nerves‐2 (PECS‐2) block (n = 25) or no block (n = 25), 20 and 22 of whom we analysed for the primary outcome of a cumulative 24‐h postoperative morphine dose.

Stewart-Treves Syndrome after Bilateral Mastectomy and Radiotherapy for Breast Carcinoma: Case Report

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Breast Health, 2015
Stewart-Treves syndrome is an angiosarcoma that occurs because of chronic lymphedema, which in most cases is a complication after mastectomy with axillary node dissection and postoperative radiation. Prognosis for this rare tumor is poor.
