Some Effects of Particle Size on the Sintering of Titanium and a Master Sintering Curve Model
Metallurgical and Materials Transactions A, 2009The press-and-sinter method of producing net shapes was applied to titanium alloys. The quantitative effects of the particle size of titanium and Ti-6Al-4V powders on the green and sintered densities were examined. Most powders were pressed at 100 to 800 MPa and sintered under vacuum at 1100 °C, 1200 °C, or 1300 °C for 2 hours.

A Versatile Software for Construction of the Master Sintering Curve
Materials Science Forum, 2018Several models have been developed over the last years to study the microstructure development of ceramic and metal powders during sintering. Among the most utilized methodology one may find the Arrhenius and the so-called Master Sintering Curve (MSC).

Analysis of Nanocrystalline and Microcrystalline ZnO Sintering Using Master Sintering Curves
Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 2006Master sintering curves were constructed for dry‐pressed compacts composed of either a nanocrystalline or a microcrystalline ZnO powder using constant heating rate dilatometry data and an experimentally determined apparent activation energy for densification of 268±25 and 296±21 kJ/mol, respectively.

Development of master sintering curve for field-assisted sintering of HfB2–20SiC
Ceramics International, 2012Abstract Field assisted sintering (FAST) or spark plasma sintering (SPS) has emerged as a promising technology for densification of ultra high temperature ceramics like HfB 2 –20SiC at relatively low temperatures and shorter times. In the present study the concepts of master sintering curve (MSC) was applied to model the densification behavior of HfB

The master sintering curves for BaTi0.975Sn0.025O3/BaTi0.85Sn0.15O3 functionally graded materials
Journal of the European Ceramic Society, 2009The most important aim in the design and processing of functionally graded materials (FGMs) is to produce devices free from any deformation. Smart choices of different combination of graded layers, as well as the heating rate during sintering, are important for the fabrication of high-quality FGMs.

Development of a microwave dilatometer for generating master sintering curves
Measurement Science and Technology, 2011Master sintering curves were developed to provide a viable database for industries for predicting the sintering behavior of ceramics. A dilatometer is required to construct these curves. Due to the non-availability of dilatometers that use microwave energy as the heating source, a push-rod microwave dilatometer was developed.

Master Sintering Curve Formulated from Constitutive Models
Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 2009The classical master sintering curve (MSC) is derived from empirical sintering model and is applicable over a range of heating rates and temperatures. For simplicity, the MSC approach was modified by assuming one dominant densification mechanism to evaluate and predict densification response.

Studies on sintering kinetics of ThO2–UO2 pellets using master sintering curve approach
Journal of Nuclear Materials, 2013Abstract Three different compositions of thoria–urania pellets, namely, ThO 2 –4%UO 2 , ThO 2 –10%UO 2 and ThO 2 –20%UO 2 (all compositions are in wt% containing natural uranium) were fabricated by Coated Agglomerate Pelletization (CAP) process. The compositions studied in the current paper are the proposed fuels for the forthcoming Indian Advanced

Control of Shrinkage during Sintering of Alumina Ceramics Based on Master Sintering Curve Theory
Key Engineering Materials, 2006The Master Sintering Curve (MSC) is quite useful for analyzing the shrinkage behavior of ceramics. It is possible to compare shrinkage behavior using MSCs that are obtained from different firing profiles. In this study, shrinkage behavior during sintering of green bodies of several kinds of Al2O3 based ceramics were evaluated, using an electric furnace
