What drives masting? The phenological synchrony hypothesis [PDF]
Annually variable and synchronous seed production, or masting behavior, is a widespread phenomenon with dramatic effects on wildlife populations and their associated communities. Proximally, masting is often correlated with environmental factors and most

Mast cells are found resident in tissues throughout the body, particularly in association with structures such as blood vessels and nerves, and in proximity to surfaces that interface the external environment. Mast cells are bone marrow-derived and particularly depend upon stem cell factor for their survival. Mast cells express a variety of phenotypic

Is a mast cell a mast cell a mast cell?
Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology, 1980The readers of this JOURNAL are all aware that increases in cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cyclic AMP) in mast cells and basophilic leukocytes in vitro are associated with suppression of the immunologically induced release of mediators. The drugs that are the mainstays of therapy in treating bronchial asthma are, for the most part, capable of ...

Proceedings of the 2011 Joint Workshop on Multilingual OCR and Analytics for Noisy Unstructured Text Data, 2011
This paper describes a semi-automatic tool for annotation of multi-script text from natural scene images. To our knowledge, this is the maiden tool that deals with multi-script text or arbitrary orientation. The procedure involves manual seed selection followed by a region growing process to segment each word present in the image.
