A Tool for Processing and Inversion of MASW Data and a Study of Inter-session Variability of MASW
ABSTRACT Multichannel analysis of surface waves (MASW) is a noninvasive active-source technique for determination of near-surface shear wave velocity (VS) profiles. Here we introduce and describe MASWavesPy, an open-source Python package for processing and inverting MASW data, whose design follows an object-oriented paradigm.

Abstract Seismic attenuation provides sensitivity to fracture density, fluid saturation, and pore geometry that complements velocity, enabling quantitative imaging of fracture architecture and associated fluid‐pathways in near‐surface bedrock. Yet high‐resolution attenuation models remain rare in refraction studies due to amplitude‐fidelity and ...

Use of surface waves for geotechnical engineering applications in Western Sydney [PDF]
Current in situ methods used to geotechnically characterize the ground are predominantly based on invasive mechanical techniques (e.g. CPT, SPT, DMT).

Adaptation of Iterative Supervirtual Interferometry for Enhancing Higher Modes From Surface Waves
ABSTRACT For geotechnical applications, surface‐wave methods are one of the most important techniques for gathering information about the strength of the near surface, but these methods are sensitive to noise. Often only the fundamental mode is considered, but higher modes can also provide more information on deeper parts of the subsurface.

Abstract Earthflows are landslides in fine‐grained materials that alternate long dormant phases of very slow movement with short paroxysmal stages of rapid motion. These rapid phases are highly destructive, often causing severe damage to buildings and infrastructure.

In Western-Atakent (İstanbul), population density is increasing day by day and settlement areas are expanding. Soil properties and landslide conditions of these expanding regions must be absolutely examined. In the geophysics, there are many methods used

Integrated VES, ERI, and MASW surveys, constrained by boreholes, delineate a central low‐resistivity/low‐V s weak corridor and more competent volcanic strata at depth. The eastern sector offers preferable foundation conditions, while identified weak zones require ground improvement or deep foundations to mitigate differential‐settlement risk.

Open-Source MASW Inversion Tool Aimed at Shear Wave Velocity Profiling for Soil Site Explorations
The shear wave velocity profile is of primary interest for geological characterization of soil sites and elucidation of near-surface structures. Multichannel Analysis of Surface Waves (MASW) is a seismic exploration method for determination of near ...
