Abstract Reef fish have complex life cycles where pelagic larval survival and recruitment are linked to environmental and early life history traits (ELHTs). We combine light traps and otolith microstructure analysis to examine how environmental variables and ELHTs drive larval growth and settlement in the endemic Ophioblennius trinitatis.
