Listening Comprehension Instructional Models: Matching Theory and Practice

open access: yesHOW, 2016
Our field has come a long way in the last quarter century, and we have learned much about the cognitive and communicative processes of language learning.

EFFICIENT AND GLOBALLY OPTIMAL MULTI VIEW DENSE MATCHING FOR AERIAL IMAGES [PDF]

open access: yesISPRS Annals of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2012
A variety of applications exist for aerial 3D reconstruction, ranging from the production of digital surface models (DSMs) and digital terrain models (DTMs) to the creation of true orthophoto and full 3D models of urban scenes that can be visualized ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

THE PHILLIPS CURVE IN A MATCHING MODEL [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Economic Review, 2019
AbstractFollowing ideas in Hume, monetary shocks are embedded in the Lagos‐Wright model in a new way: There are only nominal shocks accomplished by individual transfers that are sufficiently noisy so that realizations of those transfers do not permit the agents to deduce much about the aggregate realization.

Genetic matching for time-dependent treatments: a longitudinal extension and simulation study

open access: yesBMC Medical Research Methodology, 2023
Background Longitudinal matching can mitigate confounding in observational, real-world studies of time-dependent treatments. To date, these methods have required iterative, manual re-specifications to achieve covariate balance.

Diversity and complexity in neural organoids

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Neural organoid research aims to expand genetic diversity on one side and increase tissue complexity on the other. Chimeroids integrate multiple donor genomes within single organoids. Self‐organising multi‐identity organoids, exogenous cell seeding, or enforced assembly of region‐specific organoids contribute to tissue complexity.

Indexing and Retrieval of 3D Articulated Geometry Models [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this PhD research study, we focus on building a content-based search engine for 3D articulated geometry models. 3D models are essential components in nowadays graphic applications, and are widely used in the game, animation and movies production ...

Animal models of vitiligo: Matching the model to the question

open access: yesDermatologica Sinica, 2014
Vitiligo is an autoimmune disease of the skin that is characterized by patchy depigmentation (i.e., white spots) and results from the loss of melanocytes, which are pigment-producing cells.

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.
