Number of matches and matched people in the birthday problem

Communications in Statistics - Simulation and Computation, 1982
The well known birthday problem asks for the probability of at least one match out of a group of n people. Also of interest are the number of matches and the number of matched people. In this paper the means and variances of the number of matches and matched people are obtained.

The Average Number of Stable Matchings

SIAM Journal on Discrete Mathematics, 1989
The probable behavior of an instance of size n of the stable marriage problem, chosen uniformly at random, is studied. The expected number of stable matchings is shown to be asymptotic to $e^{ - 1} n \ln n$ for $n \to \infty $. The total rank of women by men in the male optimal (pessimal) matching is proved to be close to n In n (respectively, $n^2 $/$\

Flow-GRPO: Training Flow Matching Models via Online RL

Neural Information Processing Systems
We propose Flow-GRPO, the first method to integrate online policy gradient reinforcement learning (RL) into flow matching models. Our approach uses two key strategies: (1) an ODE-to-SDE conversion that transforms a deterministic Ordinary Differential ...

FoundationStereo: Zero-Shot Stereo Matching

Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition
Tremendous progress has been made in deep stereo matching to excel on benchmark datasets through per-domain fine-tuning. However, achieving strong zero-shot generalization — a hallmark of foundation models in other computer vision tasks — remains ...
