A designed nanoporous material for phosphate removal with high efficiency
Journal of Materials Chemistry, 2011Functionalized mesoporous materials for phosphate removal with high efficiency and minimized sludge treatment or disposal problems have been developed. Biocompatible lanthanum adsorbents were loaded into a mesoporous silica SBA-15 which can be transformed to LaPO species with very low K.

Optimization of Material Removal Efficiency in Low Pressure CMP
MRS Proceedings, 2009AbstractIn chemical-mechanical polishing (CMP) the material removal efficiency (MRE) can be defined as the fraction of the total pressure distributed on the abrasives, and it depends on the interplay between the direct contact of the pad-to-wafer, and the contact of the abrasives with the wafer.

Carbonated ferric green rust as a new material for efficient phosphate removal
Journal of Colloid and Interface Science, 2012Phosphate uptake from aqueous solutions by a recently discovered ferric oxyhydroxide is investigated. Carbonated ferric green rust {GR(CO(3)(2-))*} is prepared by varying two synthesis parameters, which are (1) the aging period after the ferrous-ferric green rust {GR(CO(3)(2-))} synthesis step and (2) the rate of the hydrogen peroxide addition to ...

Sewage Sludge-Derived Materials as Efficient Adsorbents for Removal of Hydrogen Sulfide
Environmental Science & Technology, 2001Sewage sludge-derived materials were used as adsorbents of hydrogen sulfide from moist air. The adsorbent obtained by carbonization at 950 degrees C has a capacity twice of that of coconut-shell-based activated carbon. The capacity of the sludge-derived materials increases with increasing carbonization temperature.

Efficiency of oil removal from real wastewater with different sorbent materials
Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2007The aim of this paper was to investigate the efficiency of different sorbent materials for oil removal from wastewater. Two types of sorbents were investigated: organic (loose natural wool fibers (NWF) and recycled wool based nonwoven material (RWNM)) and inorganic (sepiolite).

Double-Grafted PET Fiber Material to Remove Airborne Bacteria with High Efficiency
ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, 2022Air pollution caused by bacteria and viruses has posed a serious threat to public health. Commercial air purifiers based on dense fibrous filters can remove particulate matter, including airborne pathogens, but do not kill them efficiently. Here, we developed a double-grafted antibacterial fiber material for the high-efficiency capture and inactivation

NO removal efficiency of photocatalytic paving blocks prepared with recycled materials
Construction and Building Materials, 2007This paper presents the results of a study on the effectiveness of incorporating air cleaning agents such as titanium dioxide (TiO2) into the technique of producing concrete paving blocks, using local waste materials to remove nitrous oxide (NO). Factors which would affect the performance of the blocks were studied including the porosity of blocks, the

Magnetite nanoparticles as efficient materials for removal of glyphosate from water
Nature Sustainability, 2019Glyphosate is one of the most commonly used herbicides, but, due to its suspected toxicity, it is simultaneously the most disputed one. Its worldwide application in huge quantities may lead to water concentrations that locally exceed statutory contamination levels.

Efficiency of holograms recorded on materials with depth removal effects on exposure
Optics Communications, 1973Abstract The diffraction efficiency of holograms recorded on materials with depth removal effects on exposure has been calculated for the case when the thickness of the medium is insufficient to face the exposure. It is shown that the efficiency falls very rapidly when the thickness is insufficient.
