Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Composite materials at high temperatures

open access: yes, 1988
An experimental investigation was made to determine the ultimate tensile strength and elastic modulus of IM6-3501-6 graphite epoxy laminated specimens exposed to temperatures from 70°F to 600°F. Specimens were layered (0°), (90", 0"), (90 ° , 0° , 90° ) . The coupons used are candidate materials for advanced tactical missile airframe design. A Material

High-temperature durability considerations for HSCT combustor [PDF]

open access: yes
The novel combustor designs for the High Speed Civil Transport will require high temperature materials with long term environmental stability. Higher liner temperatures than in conventional combustors and the need for reduced weight necessitates the use ...

Dual PI3K/AKT and CDK4/6 inhibition reveals selective sensitivity in an SHH medulloblastoma stem cell model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

A Shocking Solar Nebula?

open access: yes, 2009
It has been suggested that shock waves in the solar nebula formed the high temperature materials observed in meteorites and comets. It is shown that the temperatures at the inner rim of the solar nebula could have been high enough over a sufficient ...

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Electrodeposition of Thermoelectric Materials

open access: yesChemElectroChem
Thermoelectric (TE) materials produce electrical energy when exposed to a thermal gradient and so have unsurprisingly gathered increasing interest as a promising tool in the route to reduced carbon energy emissions.

Effect of High Temperature on the Mechanical Performance of Additively Manufactured CoCrNi Medium-Entropy Alloy Octet-Truss Lattice Materials

open access: yesMetals
In this study, the effect of high temperature on the mechanical performance of CoCrNi medium-entropy alloy octet-truss lattice material fabricated via laser powder bed fusion (LPBF) is investigated by compressive test and numerical simulation method. The

SiBN ceramics, a stealth material at high temperature

open access: yesActa Physica Sinica, 2013
Silicon boron nitride (SiBN) has been paid attention extensively due to its high melting point and anti-oxidation, which is also the reason that one of the research focus is its physical property of this material at high temperatures. It has been reported that amorphous SiBN ceramics could be modeled based on the the atomic structure of -Si3N4. In this
