Chemical modification of poly(p-phenylene) for use in ablative compositions [PDF]

open access: yes, 1972
Development of ablative materials based on modification of polyphenylene compounds is discussed. Chemical and physical properties are analyzed for application as heat resistant materials. Synthesis of linear polyphenylenes is described.

β‐TrCP overexpression enhances cisplatin sensitivity by depleting BRCA1

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Low levels of β‐TrCP (Panel A) allow the accumulation of BRCA1 and CtIP, which facilitate the repair of cisplatin‐induced DNA damage via homologous recombination (HR) and promote tumor cell survival. In contrast, high β‐TrCP expression (Panel B) leads to BRCA1 and CtIP degradation, impairing HR repair, resulting in persistent DNA damage and apoptosis ...

Effect of Uniaxial Stack Pressure on the Performance of Nanocrystalline Electrolytes and Electrode Composites for All‐Solid‐State Fluoride‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesSmall Structures
If all‐solid‐state fluoride‐ion batteries want to compete with existing battery technologies, significant improvements in terms of cyclic stability are necessary to fully access the high specific capacities, which this battery concept can provide in ...

Synthesis of atomically layered and chemically ordered rare-earth (RE) i-MAX phases; (Mo2/3RE1/3)2GaC with RE = Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, and Lu

open access: yesMaterials Research Letters, 2019
We report the synthesis of eight new members of the i-MAX family, of the formula (Mo2/3RE1/3)2GaC, where RE = Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Lu, and Yb, the latter not previously incorporated in a MAX phase.

Nicotinamide N‐methyltransferase promotes drug resistance in lung cancer, as revealed by nascent proteomic profiling

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
AZD9291 has shown promise in targeted cancer therapy but is limited by resistance. In this study, we employed metabolic labeling and LC–MS/MS to profile time‐resolved nascent protein perturbations, allowing dynamic tracking of drug‐responsive proteins. We demonstrated that increased NNMT expression is associated with drug resistance, highlighting NNMT ...

Characterizing the salivary RNA landscape to identify potential diagnostic, prognostic, and follow‐up biomarkers for breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study explores salivary RNA for breast cancer (BC) diagnosis, prognosis, and follow‐up. High‐throughput RNA sequencing identified distinct salivary RNA signatures, including novel transcripts, that differentiate BC from healthy controls, characterize histological and molecular subtypes, and indicate lymph node involvement.

Entropy-increased LiMn2O4-based positive electrodes for fast-charging lithium metal batteries

open access: yesNature Communications
Fast-charging, non-aqueous lithium-based batteries are desired for practical applications. In this regard, LiMn2O4 is considered an appealing positive electrode active material because of its favourable ionic diffusivity due to the presence of three ...

Synthesis of titanate nanofibers co-sensitized with ZnS and Bi2S3 nanocrystallites and their application on pollutants removal

open access: yes, 2015
The synthesis of nanocomposite materials combining titanate nanofibers (TNF) with nanocrystalline ZnS and Bi2S3 semiconductors is described in this work. The TNF were produced via hydrothermal synthesis and sensitized with the semiconductor nanoparticles,

Eco-Efficient Synthesis of LiFePO4 with Different Morphologies for Li-Ion Batteries [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
LiFePO4 is presently the most studied electrode material for battery applications. It can be prepared via solution, although it requires well-controlled pH conditions to master the iron valence state in the newly created material.

Adenosine‐to‐inosine editing of miR‐200b‐3p is associated with the progression of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.
