Natural Product Toosendanin Suppresses the Malignant Development of Skin Melanoma by Targeting BNC2 for Degradation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
BNC2 exhibits context‐dependent opposing functions across multiple cancer types. This study reveals BNC2 as an oncogenic driver of melanoma proliferation and metastasis through transcriptional activation of PIK3CA. The natural compound TSN simultaneously degrades BNC2 and its oncogenic partner SMAD3 via CRBN‐dependent ubiquitination.

A field comparison study of two vaccine protocols against Erysipelothrix rhusiopathiae in two types of swine breeds in Spain

open access: yesBMC Veterinary Research
Erysipelas still causes large economic losses to pig industry. Maternal immunity is critical to prevent erysipelas in young animals, thus, intensive vaccination protocols or practices focused on the improvement of the maternally derived immunity could ...

Grtp1 Safeguards Against Paternal Reproductive Aging and Intergenerational Behavioral Deficits by Preserving Redox Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies that Grtp1 maintains germline redox homeostasis by interacting with PRDX1/4‐TXN to antagonize paternal reproductive aging. Growth hormone restores Grtp1 expression, rectifies aberrant sperm DNA methylation, and ameliorates intergenerational anxiety and social deficits, highlighting the GH‐GRTP1 axis as a promising intervention ...

NSUN2‐Mediated m5C Modification of TGFB1 in Trophoblasts Remodels Macrophage Function to Prevent URSA

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NSUN2 and m5C decline in URSA villous tissues. Trophoblast Nsun2 ablation disrupts macrophage‐mediated maternal‐fetal tolerance and triggers embryo resorption. Mechanistically, NSUN2‐YBX1 axis stabilizes m5C‐modified TGFB1 mRNA to maintain TGF‐β1 secretion and M2 polarization, and restoring this signaling rescues maternal‐fetal immune tolerance to ...

Seroprevalence of measles and natural rubella antibodies among children in Bangui, Central African Republic

open access: yesBMC Public Health, 2011
Background Passively acquired maternal antibodies are necessary to protect infants against circulating measles virus until they reach the eligible age of vaccination.

TH/TRs–COL11A2 Axis Mediates Loss of a Differentiated Astrocyte State in Hypogyrified Brains

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Using a gyrencephalic congenital hypothyroidism pig model, this study reveals cerebral atrophy and cortical hypogyrification. Single‐cell sequencing identifies astrocytes as major TH‐responsive cells, with the COL11A2‐enriched Astro‐2 state nearly absent.

Comparison of the safety and immunogenicity of commercial lentogenic Newcastle disease vaccine strains in layer chicks in Nepal

open access: yesJournal of Applied Poultry Research
Summary: Newcastle disease (ND) continues to affect poultry flocks in Nepal despite routine vaccination, with outbreaks suggesting vaccine failure and interference from maternally derived antibodies (MDA).

Phase Separation of SF3B1 Serves as a Critical Post‐Transcriptional Regulator During Early Mouse Embryogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Phase separation of SF3B1 acts as a key regulatory mechanism for dynamic alternative splicing throughout early mouse embryogenesis. Its absence triggers extensive splicing errors, which induce persistent DNA damage, defective cell cycle progression, and failed cell lineage commitment, and ultimately hinder the normal growth and development of ...

Priming of immune responses to hepatitis B surface antigen in young mice immunized in the presence of maternally derived antibodies

open access: yes, 2001
Early vaccination is necessary to protect infants from various infectious diseases. However, this is often unsuccessful largely due to the immaturity of the neonatal immune system.

Efficacy of marker vaccine candidate CP7 E2alf in piglets with maternally derived C-strain antibodies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Marker vaccines offer the possibility to differentiate classical swine fever (CSF) infected from CSF vaccinated animals based on serology and their implementation will ensure free trade with pigs.
