Robust Control Using a Matrix Converter to Enhance Wind Turbine Systems

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
This study uses a more efficient and effective solution to improve the operational performance of a wind turbine‐based power system. This system uses a doubly fed induction generator and relies on a matrix converter and fractional‐order proportional–integral controller.

Comparative Assessment and Benchmarking of Metaheuristic Algorithms for Dynamic Photovoltaic Array Reconfiguration Under Diverse Shading Environments

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The solar photovoltaic (PV) installations, which are essential for renewable energy systems, are vulnerable to partial shading, resulting in considerable power losses and operational inefficiencies. The dynamic reconfiguration of PV arrays has become an effective strategy to mitigate these effects by adaptively modifying the array topology to ...

A Closed‐Loop Human Resource Management Framework for Energy Efficiency: Integrating Predictive Optimization With Behavioral Implementation

open access: yesEnergy Science &Engineering, EarlyView.
The proposed framework operates as a continuous cycle: organizational data streams feed into predictive optimization, which generates energy efficiency targets. These targets are translated into behavioral directives through human resource management mechanisms.

Full Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics Ahead: Leveraging Immersive Virtual Reality to Create Equitable and Transformative Learning Experiences

open access: yesFuture in Educational Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Immersive virtual reality (IVR) is widely promoted as a means of enriching learning in science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics (STEAM), yet evidence of its capacity to foster equitable classroom experiences for marginalised groups remains limited, particularly outside traditional STEM domains.

Bridging Gaps in STEMM Education: The Role of Culturally Responsive Pedagogy and Mentorship in Preparing Future Teachers

open access: yesFuture in Educational Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT A Summer Research Program (SRP) at a large public university in the southern United States prepares undergraduate STEM majors to engage with high school students from underrepresented backgrounds. Grounded in culturally responsive pedagogy (CRP) and layered mentorship, SRP fosters inclusive teaching practices and professional growth among ...

Electricity Price Prediction Using Multikernel Gaussian Process Regression Combined With Kernel‐Based Support Vector Regression

open access: yesJournal of Forecasting, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper presents a new hybrid model for predicting German electricity prices. The algorithm is based on a combination of Gaussian process regression (GPR) and support vector regression (SVR). Although GPR is a competent model for learning stochastic patterns within data and for interpolation, its performance for out‐of‐sample data is not ...

Embracing Complexity in HRM Research: A Call for System and Process Perspectives

open access: yesHuman Resource Management, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Human resource management (HRM) is inherently complex. It involves systems of principles, practices, and activities operating at individual, group, organizational, and macro levels, which are interlinked through complex processes. Yet, empirical research has not kept pace with this conceptual richness.
