MATHEMATICAL MODEL FOR REFINERY FURNACES SIMULATION

open access: yesCT&F Ciencia, Tecnología & Futuro, 2010
A mathematical model for simulation of refinery furnaces is proposed. It consists of two different submodels, one for the process side and another for the flue gas side. The process side is appropriately modeled as a plug flow due to the high velocity of

Mathematical modeling of drug release

open access: yes, 2017
Several release mechanisms are involved in the drug release like environmental conditions, diffusion and other physical and chemical conditions but only a couple are deemed prevalent in every release theory. Based on this, most of the mathematical models

Plasmonic Enhancement of Fluorescence and Protein Dynamics in Living Mammalian Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates plasmonic enhancement of the function of fluorescent voltage sensing proteins (genetically encoded voltage indicators, (GEVIs), QuasAr6) in live mammalian cells. Coupling to plasmonic nanoparticles does not just increase fluorescence, but influences the protein photocycle, creating a hybrid sensor with its response speed to ...

Counterintuitive Fluorescence Blue Shift in Symmetry Breaking Dicationic Bis(indolium) with Two‐Photon Absorption Properties for NIR Living Cell Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Highly water‐soluble dicationic bis(indolium) dyes have been prepared, showing excellent two‐photon absorption and light emission. Their fluorescence behavior discloses an unusual increasing blue shift with increasing solvent polarity, which, in parallel, is beneficial for enhanced detection in biological media.
