A Survey of Recent Advances in Optimization Methods for Wireless Communications [PDF]
arXivMathematical optimization is now widely regarded as an indispensable modeling and solution tool for the design of wireless communications systems. While optimization has played a significant role in the revolutionary progress in wireless communication and networking technologies from 1G to 5G and onto the future 6G, the innovations in wireless ...

CVXR: An R Package for Disciplined Convex Optimization [PDF]
, 2020CVXR is an R package that provides an object-oriented modeling language for convex optimization, similar to CVX, CVXPY, YALMIP, and Convex.jl. It allows the user to formulate convex optimization problems in a natural mathematical syntax rather than the ...

Utopia point method based robust vector polynomial optimization scheme [PDF]
, 2022In this paper, we focus on a class of robust vector polynomial optimization problems (RVPOP in short) without any convex assumptions. By combining/improving the utopia point method (a nonlinear scalarization) for vector optimization and "joint+marginal" relaxation method for polynomial optimization, we solve the RVPOP successfully.

Niching genetic algorithms for optimization in electromagnetics. I. Fundamentals [PDF]
, 1998Niching methods extend genetic algorithms and permit the investigation of multiple optimal solutions in the search space. In this paper, we review and discuss various strategies of niching for optimization in electromagnetics.

MOS: A Mathematical Optimization Service [PDF]
arXiv, 2022We introduce MOS, a software application designed to facilitate the deployment, integration, management, and analysis of mathematical optimization models. MOS approaches mathematical optimization at a higher level of abstraction than existing optimization modeling systems, enabling its use with all of them.

Inverse Optimization: Theory and Applications [PDF]
arXiv, 2021Inverse optimization describes a process that is the "reverse" of traditional mathematical optimization. Unlike traditional optimization, which seeks to compute optimal decisions given an objective and constraints, inverse optimization takes decisions as input and determines an objective and/or constraints that render these decisions approximately or ...

Calculus of variations with fractional derivatives and fractional integrals [PDF]
Applied Mathematics Letters 22 (2009) 1816--1820, 2009We prove Euler-Lagrange fractional equations and sufficient optimality conditions for problems of the calculus of variations with functionals containing both fractional derivatives and fractional integrals in the sense of Riemann-Liouville.
