CVXR: An R Package for Disciplined Convex Optimization [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
CVXR is an R package that provides an object-oriented modeling language for convex optimization, similar to CVX, CVXPY, YALMIP, and Convex.jl. It allows the user to formulate convex optimization problems in a natural mathematical syntax rather than the ...

A Mathematical Model for Agroforestry Optimization

open access: yesWSEAS TRANSACTIONS ON SYSTEMS AND CONTROL, 2022
In the present article, we will describe some extensions of an agroforestry model that has been proposed and computationally implemented in [7]. Our generalizations consist of the inclusion of two additional species of tree, one culture, and a declaration of regeneration tours as variables definable by us as a parameter and the weight allocation by ...

New Results on Generalized Graph Coloring [PDF]

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science, 2004
For graph classes \wp_1,...,\wp_k, Generalized Graph Coloring is the problem of deciding whether the vertex set of a given graph G can be partitioned into subsets V_1,...,V_k so that V_j induces a graph in the class \wp_j (j=1,2,...,k).

Pharmacokinetic–pharmacodynamic modeling of maintenance therapy for childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
In the treatment of childhood acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), current protocols combine initial high-dose multiagent chemotherapy with prolonged oral therapy with 6-mercaptopurine (6MP) and low-dose methotrexate (MTX) maintenance therapy.

Statistical Modelling by Topological Maps of Kohonen for Classification of the Physicochemical Quality of Surface Waters of the Inaouen Watershed Under Matlab

open access: yesJournal of Nigerian Society of Physical Sciences, 2022
Self-organizing maps (SOMs) and other artificial intelligence approaches developed by Kohonen can be used to model and solve environmental challenges. To emphasize the classification of Physico-chemical parameters of the Inaouen watershed, we presented ...

Optim: A mathematical optimization package for Julia

open access: yesJournal of Open Source Software, 2018
Optim provides a range of optimization capabilities written in the Julia programming language (Bezanson et al. 2017). Our aim is to enable researchers, users, and other Julia packages to solve optimization problems without writing such algorithms themselves.

Codon optimization: a mathematical programing approach [PDF]

open access: yesBioinformatics, 2020
Abstract Motivation Synthesizing proteins in heterologous hosts is an important tool in biotechnology. However, the genetic code is degenerate and the codon usage is biased in many organisms. Synonymous codon changes that are customized for each host organism may have a significant effect on the level

Utopia point method based robust vector polynomial optimization scheme [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
In this paper, we focus on a class of robust vector polynomial optimization problems (RVPOP in short) without any convex assumptions. By combining/improving the utopia point method (a nonlinear scalarization) for vector optimization and "joint+marginal" relaxation method for polynomial optimization, we solve the RVPOP successfully.
