Mean Field Games and Applications: Numerical Aspects

Lecture notes in mathematics, 2020
The theory of mean field games aims at studying deterministic or stochastic differential games (Nash equilibria) as the number of agents tends to infinity.

A modified numerical scheme and convergence analysis for fractional model of Lienard's equation

Journal of Computational and Applied Mathematics, 2017
The key purpose of the present work is to constitute a numerical algorithm based on fractional homotopy analysis transform method to study the fractional model of Lienard’s equations. The Lienard’s equation describes the oscillating circuits.

Machine Learning and Computational Mathematics

Communications in Computational Physics, 2020
Neural network-based machine learning is capable of approximating functions in very high dimension with unprecedented efficiency and accuracy. This has opened up many exciting new possibilities, not just in traditional areas of artificial intelligence ...

Numerical Analysis A Mathematical Introduction

2002
Abstract Numerical analysis explains why numerical computations work, or fail. This book is divided into four parts. Part I starts with a guided tour of floating number systems and machine arithmetic. The exponential and the logarithm are constructed from scratch to present a new point of view on questions well-known to the reader, and ...

Mathematical and Numerical Analysis of a Tsunami Problem

Mathematical Models and Methods in Applied Sciences, 2003
In this paper, we present a tsunami model based on the displacement of the lithosphere and the mathematical and numerical analysis of this model. More precisely, we give an existence and uniqueness result for a problem which models the flow and formation of waves at the time of a submarine earthquake in the vicinity of the coast.

Mathematical and Numerical Analysis of Some FSI Problems

2014
In this chapter we deal with some specific existence and numerical results applied to a 2D/1D fluid–structure coupled model, for an incompressible fluid and a thin elastic structure. We will try to underline some of the mathematical and numerical difficulties that one may face when studying this kind of problems such as the geometrical nonlinearities ...
