Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

How should we measure population-level inbreeding depression? Impacts of standing genetic associations between selfing rate and deleterious mutations

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science
Inbreeding depression (ID) is a major selective force during mating system evolution primarily contributed by highly to partially recessive deleterious mutations.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Study on the reproduction of Colquhounia coccinea

open access: yesXibei zhiwu xuebao
[Objective] The torch flower (Colquhounia coccinea) exhibits a typical avian syndrome, and thus has the potential to be developed as a bird-attracting landscape plant. [Methods] With the C. coccinea populations in natural and artificial habitats as the

Population genetic structure and mating system in the hybrid zone between Pinus sibirica Du Tour and P. pumila (Pall.) Regel at the Eastern Baikal Lake shore [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of Forest Research, 2008
Genetic structure of sympatric Pinus sibirica Du Tour and P. pumila(Pall.) Regel populations and putative interspecific hybrids between them was analyzed in the Baikal Lake region (Barguzin Biosphere Natural Reserve, Davsha River basin) by means of 31 ...

An effective rotational mating scheme for inbreeding reduction in captive populations illustrated by the rare sheep breed

open access: yes, 2008
Within breeds and other captive populations, the risk of high inbreeding rates and loss of diversity can be high within (small) herds or subpopulations.

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Hard Mating Aggregation as Evidence of Polyandry in the Red‐Tailed Boa, Boa constrictor (Squamata: Boidae), in a Brazilian Caatinga Population

open access: yesEcology and Evolution
This study reports a reproductive aggregation of a female Boa constrictor with five males in the Brazilian Caatinga. The observation reinforces the evidence of a polyandrous system, favoring larger females that copulate with different males.

Female mating decisions in the Trinidadian guppy, Poecilia reticulata

open access: yes, 2009
Contrary to traditional belief, the decisions that females make before, during and after mating shape its outcome and ultimately fitness. The aim of this thesis was to examine how females modify and adjust their mating decisions in line with social and ...
